Unreliable, Poor quality. Not recommended., 8/21/2010

Contractor (Joey) was paid in full for job, even though he had not finished (my fault). I made a claim via the BBB and posted a poor review because I could not get him to return any calls; When he... saw those he begrudgingly showed up 2 months later. He, however, then tried to broker a deal where he would return to finish, but only if I removed the review. I agreed, and he failed. So Now I am re-posting. He had an attitude, and was passive aggressive enough to make things worse then they were; He blamed the lack of level on warped boards and refused to correct; his resolution to correct wobbly construction was to drive a handful of nails and or screws into the boards so it looks awful. He shoved a block of wood in a wrought iron hand rail end and painted it black. When I questioned him, he said he could not find a metal cap and that was his resolution. When I showed him collateral damage his construction caused to other areas of my deck, his answer was "sometimes, you are better off doing things yourself"; then he proceeded to drive 3 screws below the wood surface and call it a day (He would not even address collateral damage caused to my fence and AC unit). I was not going to argue with him any longer because this had gone on long enough and he seemed highly volatile, so I was glad to just have him leave (His assistant was very polite and apologized the whole time for the shoddy work and Joey's behavior). Just spent $150 in materials to correct the deck damage he caused.
