John's siding crew was incredible. Very hard-working and extremely good with this huge task. The paint crew was really good. Detailed, amazing. And I hardly noticed the gutter install. Very... quick. And we absolutely love the new sliding door. Thanks JT. Overall, great transformation!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
The threshold and trim all around my front door were rotting pretty badly. There was no question that it was time to replace the door and surrounding wood. I wanted something more open (more windows)... that wouldn't rot, but wouldn't look synthetic. John Temmel worked with me to find exactly the door that I was looking for - for exactly the right price. We went with a fiberglass door with nine "lights" and "lights" around the transom. You'd never know the door isn't wood. It's not only exceeded my expectations, but completely transformed the front of my house and the foyer ambience. Great work - very happy!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

John Temmel, “The Siding Guy”, and his team replaced the siding on the back of our Alpharetta home with Hardie Siding, replaced all of the rotted wood trim areas with matching PVC material (that will never rot), then repainted the entire home with Porter Paint’s top-of-the-line “Permanizer” paint. Although John’s quote wasn’t the lowest, it also wasn’t the highest. But what I really appreciated was that once we agreed upon the price, John remained firm with his quote and he never nickel and dimed us with every little “surprise” (and there will always be surprises!). When his crew found an area needing repair, they did it the right way and took care of it properly rather than applying a “quick patch”. The crews were all courteous and conscientious and the end result was that our home looks beautiful! We're both very particular about our home and yard and we were very pleased with the work from John’s team. We would highly recommend “The Siding Guy” to our friends and family. - The Pettigrew Family

John did a huge renovation on the outside of our house by replacing all windows, siding, and doors. He did a stellar job for me and thankfully had a great deal of construction knowledge from his background that helped solve issues we found under the siding. John is very fair and we could not be any happier! Would hire again in a heartbeat!

We were completely impressed with the level of service & professionalism that we received from John & his crew. Not only does our house look great, he solved a drainage problem that we have been having for over 8 years. We were completely pleased from the estimate all the way to the finished product. Will highly reccommend to friends & kudzu family.

John and his crew replaced our siding, windows and built the ultimate man cave addition for our townhome. Excellent work at a fair price. We would not hesitate to call on John for future projects. Thanks John & Crew for a job well done, Tom & Michele Parsons

John did our siding 3 years ago and did a fantastic job. Before choosing him, we were diligent in our research and got several quotes. John was not the absolute cheapest, but our neighbor had used him and had nothing but the highest praise. We deemed his professionalism well worth a few extra bucks. He also built a front porch and back deck for us. An issue came up recently in the nit-picky inspection to sell the house and John came right out and made all the amendments, including items that were not part of his work. He completed everything at no charge and in record time.

Much better than the big companies, John oversaw the whole process including doing the estimate himself and was available throughout the whole reside. He was able to put the new siding over the old existing siding on my old house. Got the job done in the middle of the winter which included the painting despite a few rainy days, now my house looks so much better. John did a great job with my siding and painting. I would recommend John to all my friends and family.

Like the other reviews say so well, John does number one quality work at a very competitive price. In re-siding our entire home, for every concern (every!) we had, before, during, and after the crew did the work, he took notes and made helpful suggestions, and completely satisfied us, even for things on which we were not sure if they fell within the scope of the contract. He was recommended by a personal friend who is a realtor, and was obviously the best candidate of those we interviewed, and he followed through on that with his completed work. I expect John will treat you honestly as he did us.

Recently, we made the decision to replace the masonite siding on our 30 year old John Wieland home. We got bids from 5 companies and went with John because his bid was very competitive and he had great reviews on Kudzu. His crew did an excellent job installing Hardiplank siding, fascia and trim boards, and painting the siding, windows, and trim. We especially appreciated John's flexibility in working with us. We made a last minute change to our siding style and tweaked our siding paint color after the first coat was applied. In both instances, he was understanding and focused on our satisfaction, rather than any inconvenience we had caused. The other thing that sets John apart from his competition is his home building experience. From ensuring the foundation stucco repair included a waterproof membrane to discovering, diagnosing and repairing a dangerous electrical situation, John's knowledge proved invaluable. He even saved us a significant amount of money on new garage doors. When I shared with him a bid for replacing our garage doors, he got me with a company he had used in the past. Their bid was $800 less for better quality doors. We are in total agreement with others who expressed they have never been happier with a contractor. John is the best!

Found John on Kudzu and interviewed him along with about half a dozen other contractors. Given his years of prior experience in homebuilding, John was as, if not more, knowledgeable about siding as any of the bigger guys I spoke with - and far more competitive. John re-sided our entire home and from the siding workmanship to the painting, we could not be happier with the results. In fact, John and his team were able work with our crazy idea of converting an exterior doorway into a pantry, making it look like it was part of the original home design. We look forward to having him work on additional projects in the future.

We contracted with John because he had done multiple successful projects in our old subdivision so when our new/ older home required work; John was our first choice. The paint crew and carpentry are excellent; we highly recommend John and his team for any siding issues, carpentry, painting, or remodel.

We found John Temmel on Kudzu and the liked the satisfactory reviews! John came to our house located in downtown Atlanta to provide the estimate. He took the time to explain everything that his crew could do and what our various options would be. We discussed that he would be able to replicate the look and the color of the siding, while replacing the 20 year old LP siding with durable Hardiplank cement board. We met with 3 other contractors before choosing John Temmel. His crew did a great job installing new Hardiplank siding, replacing any rotted trim boards along the way. They added energy-efficient insulation underneath the siding on one exterior wall. They also painted the siding and trim and pressure washed and painted our perimeter picket fence and upstairs balcony. We were glad that one contractor could take care of all items that we wanted. John asked us to make sure we were satisfied with everything and addressed several items to be corrected after the crews left. We would have hoped for more timely communication at this point, but eventually all of our concerns were addressed and completed. Now that the job is finished we are happy to say that the house looks great. We feel that we received a great value and excellent craftsmanship for the money. We have received so many compliments from our neighbors and would highly recommend John and his team for any size siding, carpentry or painting job you may have.

I initially needed to replace defective 15 year old LP siding that was installed when my house was built. I contacted James Hardie Siding Products to obtain references of local qualified installers. I also reviewed Kudzu and Angie's list. I received bids from 4 top rated contractors including John Temmel. John's bid was very competitive though not the lowest. What distinguished John was his attention to detail. He came out to my house to provide the estimate. In walking the the house with me he noticed that one of the steel support posts supporting our sun room was rotted at its base. The first 2 contractors missed that. John also didn't try to sell things that I didn't need. His crew did a great job installing new Hardiplank siding, fascia and trim boards, new gutters, and covers. They also painted the siding, windows, and trim pieces. John also asked me to make sure I was satisfied with everything and addressed several little things (like installing new outdoor light fixtures) for free. The house looks great. I recommend him highly. In fact, I am retaining him to install new windows for me. Tom O'Neill Marietta, GA

We used John Temmel to replace the siding on the back of our house with Hardieplank, to replace our gutters and to repair and paint our trim. Our wood work required MANY repairs. In all cases, the crew was on-time, communicated progress regularly, cleaned up every day and did a very professional job. John was always responsive to our questions and concerns. There were no surprises at the end! They did exactly what they said they would do, when they said they would do it. We have never been happier with a contractor. AND he’s really smart and fun to work with! John-You can use us as a reference anytime! Pam & Russ in East Cobb
