Jones Mike Floor Company Incorporated

I've had a mixed experience with Mike Jones Floor Company. He has done two refinishing jobs for me, both in Upper St. Clair. The first was in an approximately 50-year-old house we lived in for 13 years. Mike refinished the oak floors there before we moved in, and they were absolutely beautiful for the entire 13 years. Then we moved to a house in the same neighborhood. This house is also about 50 years old. Mike refinished these floors before we moved in as well. But on moving day we noticed that the floors seemed dull and were scratching easily. So I called Mike. He came out in a few days and agreed that we had to put another coat of polyurethane on the floors - apparently they were so old and dry that they needed more than the two coats he used. Painfully for us, this meant removing ALL the furniture, which we had just paid a moving company to move and place. Mike did not ask for any additional fee for the do-over, but he did not offer to help move the furniture. Many of our friends and family felt he should have stepped up and done that, but we just wanted the job done and we were willing to meet him more than halfway. The floors are now gorgeous, and everyone compliments them. But now on to my third experience with Mike, or should I say his company.I am now embarking on a kitchen remodel, and I called Mike to get an estimate on laying hardwood floors in the kitchen. I want these to match the floors in the rest of the house (which again, look terrific). I called the company and spoke to a receptionist who said that Mike's next available consult appointment was on a day a couple of weeks in the future, somewhere between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. Though that wasn't ideal, it was okay, so I took the appointment. The receptionist also said that they would be calling the day before the appointment to tell me a more specific time. That sounded reasonable. So, the day of my consult was supposed to be today. Mike Jones Floor Co recently did the floors in our Family Room and our Nursery. We had torn up carpet in our 95 year old house and found oak and pine floors respectively. My husband and I did our best to remove the linoleum and newspaper from the floor in the Nursery but it still looked pretty bad. In the Family room there were many spots of water damage and pet stains. Mike Jones Floor Co was able to restore both floors beautifully, in spite of the less than ideal condition. They worked well around our busy schedule and the finisher (Chas) followed up with me personally to ensure my floors were stained the correct colors.

They did a fantastic job on refinishing the original hard wood floors in our upstairs and downstairs hallways. And out of all the estimates we received, they were the most reasonable!\r\rThey came in and did the job while we were away on vacation. They are local boys so we knew we could trust them. :) We left the color of the stain up to them, I just wanted each level of the house to look like they blended into the other hardwood floors in the rooms that were connected to the hallwaythey EXCEEDED my expectations.\r\rI'm sorry to review the few poor reviews here, and felt obligated to put down that they gave outstanding service and quality in their work!\r\rTHANKS MIKE JONES!\r...
