My family and I use to frequent this place often. It's convenient to our home, service was good, cheap prices, and pretty healthy eating for the most part. Now, this place is horrible. The service is below average and the quality of the food is horrible. I don't know if they changed owners, but it is not the same place that I use to dine at least 4-5 times per week -

i may have high standards for picking asian restaurants but i don't think this place would be a good call for anyone who likes asian food. its a little too sloppy and not really what i expect when i try a non-american place.

I have to say the service was bad. When you go out to eat with your family, you kind of expect a better experience than just eating at home. The food was pretty gross, the staff was unpleasant, and the overall the service was bad.

I don't even want to go into detail about all of the problems there because there were so many. I will say this - a restaurant can be made or broken by poor organization. The restaurant didn't run very well overall and it was a dreadful experience. Don't even waste your time going there.

I have eaten at sushi places before so i promise this is not an anti-sushi rant - but Joy of Tokyo has permanently sworn me off of sushi. I don't know if they are undergoing some management issues but the whole experience was just horribly below my expectations. If you want sushi try some of the better established restaurants inside the perimeter.

Lets face it - the one reason why I would go to a Japanese restaurant is either for Hibachi or Sushi. Joy of Tokyo is all about sushi - and they are not doing a good job at that. I don't know if all Joy of tokyos are like this but I had an absolutely miserable experience. The food sucked. The price was too high. And the service was sketchy.

I have eaten before at Joy of Tokyo and it definitely is different depending on which location you eat at. For this particular establishment I had a horrendous experience. Some of the food made me and my friends pretty ill - we asked for a different dish only to get another sickening item. I would definitely NEVER eat here again.
