K & S Camera Repair

Camera arrived on 9/6/11 at K & S Camera for CLA, broken ASA dial, bad eye piece, and battery modification. It was back at my front door in Massachusetts on 9/14. My favorite OM-1n was back to its like new condition. Ken, the owner, provided excellent service, fast turn around, and all at a very reasonable price. No fanfare, no big talk, just solid good work. If you own an olympus OM series camera, and it needs repair, give K & S Camera a try.

WORST customer service EVER! Let me explain:

I brought in my bridge camera 6 weeks before a 2 month trip, asking if it could be repaired for that trip. During those 6 weeks, I called 3 times to ask if the estimate was ready and to remind the person that I was leaving on a trip. I did not get the estimate until the day of my trip and hence could not retrieve the camera. On the phone, I told him the repair was much too high, almost the price of the camera and that I wasn't interested in repairing it at that price.

When I got back from my trip, I went to get the camera but he said I needed the order number (fair enough), came back a 2nd time, he was "exceptionally closed", 3rd time I came back, he said that I had not responded to his estimate and therefore the camera has been "disposed off"!!!! I cannot believe it!

I came across a favorable review of K&S Camera (Fresno) for camera repair on a photography discussion website. I sent my OM-10 for repair work on a stuck film advance / shutter release mechanism. The problem was repaired, plus new seals were installed and an alignment was done. Took about 3 weeks total, but was well worth the wait. Now I have a camera that will probably last another 10 or 20 years. Thank You!
