KOBE Japanese Steak House & Sushi Bar

My daughter worked at Kobe Steakhouse as a hostess, and it is REQUIRED for you to have your whole party there because if you sit a party that is not completed then it BACKS EVERYTHING UP! I wish people can understand this for I been to many Japanese restaurants for many years. Its not fair to other reservations and walk-ins that have a party completed to wait because your party isnt completed. And my daughter says there is absolutely no MSG in any of food or sauces. Instead of insisting on not paying for the food because the beef was bad why not ask for a discount? I believe the person below me is one of those grumpy type of person who expects if you complain you get anything you want. Kobe Japanese restaurant has one of the best hibachi foods! I've eaten there MANY times and never got sick and the chef was always exciting. Usually when they are busy they don't do as many trick but thats understandable. There sushi is the best around! Spider roll and Volcano are my favorite. Very fresh fish and tasty sushi rice. The service is good, could be a little better, but better than arigato (which I do not like at all)

Went there as a large birthday party taking up 4 large tables. The staff refused to seat the party until everyone had arrived then after 40mins they agreed to start seating. I order a 5$ beer and they served it without a glass which I had to ask for and which ended up being a highball glass. Our Chef was not very social and was careless in his performance. Me and my wife ordered the sirloin steak but when he brought the meat out it was almost brown. It had very little color and did not look good. This was supposed to be aged beef so we assumed that it may have affected the color but we later found out that aged beef is supposed to has a deep red color not brown.My wife said that she could not eat the beef as it was bad. When the waiter finally came by again he said "but you ate it all". She had eaten everything but the beef (they only give you like 5 pieces with the plate she ordered). He said we can't do anything since you ate it and he kept saying that the meat had just come in today. We were getting looks from the other party members and dropped it to avoid upsetting our friends.We got home and my wife became vilently ill vommiting 3 times in extreme pain. We eat lots of beef and steak and she has never had this reaction but we do not eat out often and are strict about our meat quality. We wrote the corporate headquarters for Kobe and they forwarded our email to the manager in Clearwater and he bacially said sorry but I hope you dine with us again. A totally impersonal form letter response with no remorse or even an attempt at denying that they serve cheap discolored meat. The meat incident is bad but I consider how they brushed us off afterwards as if we were criminals was the worst of all and the waiter denying our claims that the meat was fresh without even looking at, smelling it or checking the kitchen. Kobe's is a great experience and the food is fantstic. I went there on my birthday and received $15 off my meal!! Can't beat that..

May be a little pricey, but if you can afford it then it is highly recommend it. Just the little show the chefs put on alone was amazing. The food was excellent. Maybe the only thing that may be weird is sitting at a table with strangers.
