I've taken 2 cars here to Kauffman Tire-Decatur in the past year for new tires + alignments. Nothing but great things to say. You can make an appointment online, pick out the tires you want online, and save $20 or so. DeKalb Tire in Tucker, where I used to go, got put on my "bad list" b/c they did the alignments wrong on both my cars (wheel wasn't centered when car was pointed straight - and yes, it happened twice there). Kauffman got the alignments right on both cars. Plus, on my second visit to Kauffman, they were out of the $81 tire I wanted that was advertised online, so they sold me the next-up $118 tire from that manufacturer at the $81 price! AND, that tire they sold me came with an additional $50 rebate (that the $81 tire didn't)! So, all told I walked out of there putting 4 new 60k-warranted tires on my luxury Infiniti WITH an $80 alignment, for less than $500! Can't beat the price or the service - how many other tire places would give you a more expensive tire for the cheaper price? Kauffman also offers free lifetime rotation and balance for the life of the tires, on every sale. As far as the wait etc. is concerned, these other folks must not have made the appt online and been "walk-ins" in the afternoon or something. I didn't have that problem. (um, hello, I've never had to wait less than 2-3 hrs at ANY tire place for new tires).

My experience with Kauffman Tire was awful, I had 3 defective tires that needed to be warrantied out and replaced. I was given a $20 discount on two new tires which was not a drop in the bucket. the sales person took my car for a test drive that lasted approximately 28 minutes. after $200 and almost an hour and 45 minutes of waiting, I discovered my glove box contents all on the floor board and my prescription eye glasses were severely damaged. I found them in the back of the glove box in between the dash and the hinges. Trip sales manager at Kauffman could not help me with the glasses. His phone call was very rude and unprofessional. He said they were too damaged, The glasses were not broke when i handed my keys over for test drive this day cost me almost 500.00 and they have not been helpful or pleasant or even considerate for there damages. Very rude wouldnt recommend anything about them for anyone. WOULDNT HAVE BEEN THERE IN THE FIRST PLACE HAD I NOT HAD 3 DEFECTIVE TIRES FROM THEM

I used to spend a lot of time looking for deals when I needed auto service and I've ended up using various providers who had a good promotion but didn't deliver on good service. Now I've exclusively used Kauffman for about a year and I always leave feeling confident that I received high quality service for a fair price. The staff are friendly, professional and knowledgeable, and are always very courteous. I've never had any problems, and I'm so glad that I can stop looking! I plan on always using this Kauffman.

So disappointing! Some time back Kauffman fixed my flat for free so I decided to return when I needed new tires. I made a reservation and selected tires online, which was about as helpful as a chocolate teapot. When I arrived, there were a handful of extra charges to add to the total, and it took more than an hour for my car to be pulled into the bay. As I write (from my cell -- no wifi or even enough chairs for waiting customers) it's 2+ hours and counting, and I was just told it's at least an hour to go; tires only, no rocket science or extra services involved. If I ever get out of here, I'm never coming back. Ever.

I originally went into Kauffman, because I had a flat, and they convinced me that I needed four new tires. I bought four tires from them, but every month after that, one would go flat. They would look at the tire and tell me that I had damaged it on a nail and it wasn't repairable and that my warranty didn't cover that kind of damage, or if it did, I'd have to pay something. I don't live in a construction area and have no idea how I could have gotten eight nails in my tires over an eight month period (I once asked them to show me the nail, and they threw it away). The next time my tire went flat, I went to a different tire place, and they told me all that was wrong with the tire was a leaky valve! And I just had my 82K service done elsewhere on my Pilot, and the guy told me that two of my tires are worn out and coming apart and need to be replaced. He said that Kauffman obviously never rotated or balanced my tires, and that they sold me shoddy ones. He said places like theirs often screw over women. Don't go there!!!

I needed 4 new tires and they were available here without ordering, which was great. What was not great was that I was told it should take about 1 to 1.5 hours to get that done, but ended up waiting about 2.5 hours to have them put on. But they weren't the right size. So 2 weeks later, I was told it should take about 1 to 1.5 hours for them to correct the error but ended up waiting 3 hours. I am glad that they fixed it, but it was not convenient for me at the time. In the store they advertise 39 minute tire changes or you get $39 back, but when asked about this, they fed me some line about how the latest tires were an upgrade, as if they were doing me a favor. I don't recommend them mainly because the store manager doesn't understand customer service and he sure can't estimate time very well. He wasn't rude, but he did show me that he wasn't interested in a long term business relationship...and that is alright with me -- I can probably get things done faster elsewhere. By the way, I am confident that all of the great reviews here are the friends/employees of the shop -- everyone that I saw waiting both times were extremely frustrated and ready to leave. I do not believe my experiences at this place were abnormal for them.

I spent four hours there to get an oil change and two tires. Towards the end, I really wondered whether they were intentionally misrepresenting the timetable out of some sadistic motive. At the end, they said it would be hours longer before I could get an alignment, after someone had told me an hour earlier that it would be done in 40 minutes.

Encouraged by these reviews and thrilled to find a coupon on kudzu for the services I needed, I called ahead to find out how long it would take to get my oil changed and tires rotated. I was told one hour. I would normally wait but decided to have my partner follow me with our baby so I could tend to him as needed and we could run some errands while they worked on my car. At the shop, I gave them my info and presented my kudzu coupon. I was told it would take 1.5 hours. We left and returned 2 hours later. My car was still in the same spot I left it in. I went in and said I was there to pick up my car. After paging through recent invoices, the counter guy told me it might not have been done yet. I stated that if it hadn't, I needed the key back because I couldn't wait any longer. He left and returned with my keys, saying there was still 1 more car ahead of me. He asked if I wanted to keep my ticket open for Monday. I told him, no, that I would take it somewhere else. I'm convinced my car was pushed to the side because they knew, from my kudzu coupon, that they would only make $20 off of my while they'd make a lot more off of all the others who came in after me that were put ahead of my car. There was 1 other person waiting when I dropped my car off and few cars in the back. Even so, they could have called me to tell me it would be longer, especially once we passed the 1.5 hours mark. As a new mom and business owner, I have hardly any time off. They wasted my entire morning!

After an awful experience at Just Brakes, I took my car to Kauffman Tire in Decatur. The shop was clean and their prices were posted. It did take a few hours to come up with a diagnosis, and it did include a lot of "fluff," like flushing every fluid and cleaning the brakes, but everything was line-itemed and they didn't argue when I told them the few options that I wanted. They also honored two of their competitor's coupons. All in all, a good experience.

I have had some success with tires however be careful with general mechanic work. They are working on commission and they will usually find something "wrong" with your car. Even when the car is in perfect condition, they will try to upsell you on unneeded preventative maintenance. Otherwise they are very friendly

On my last visit I was looking for tires advertised in the AJC. None were available as they had been "sold out" for some time and no more were expected any time soon. More expensive tires were available but I had to return due to a poor balancing job on one of the front tires. This tire dealer sounds great but with my experience I had some problems. They also advertise fixing flats for free but when I stopped by asking to have a nail to taken out I was informed there would be three hour wait! So I went elsewhere and paid to have my tire fixed with no waiting.

I'll always go to Kauffman tires when I need new car shoes, b/c you cannot beat their deals and guarantees. I just had four 16" Dunlop tires, with a 75,000 mile warranty, put on my car for just under $250, including labor! When I save up the money, they're first on my list for a new set of alloy wheels. Only reason not 5 stars is b/c on my last car, they put on four tires and forgot to do something to the valve stems (seal them I think) and tires kept going flat. But, they always fixed them free. Maybe they just had a bad employee, that was 2 years ago. I'll still go there anyway!
