If you love your dog, DON'T take her here!!!, 10/06/2012

My dog has stayed at Kelsey's four times and each time she returns home she sleeps for hours and seems depressed. She actually shivers and hides prior to going in and this NEVER happens any place... else. She smells and she once came home with a cut on her leg and an eye infection. I've given this place enough chances and now I'm done. I could never let my dog go there again. I'm actually ridden with guilt that I've allowed her to go four times. I'm done, never again!

Never Going Back, 10/08/2011

I was a long standing client to Kelsey's even after the old owners left and the new ones took over, but I recently found out that Lisa, who left Kelsey's earlier this summer is now working over at... Pupcakes! I will no longer be taking my business to Kelsey's as she was the one and ONLY reason I was still going there! I am sad that things have turned out the way the have, but I have been extremely dissatisfied with the service there for months now. And my dog runs away from their front door, when she used to go barreling through there when the old staff was there. I also have to add, whenever we have had an issue with the grooming our dog has recieved and when my dog has come home with mysterious scratches and bites, I've tried discussing it with the owner Melissa and she is extremely combative and argumentative, you really can't get good customer service out of her, if you have an issue with Kelsey's I wouldn't even bother trying to talk to her, she left me feeling like I was talking to a brick wall. Sad Kelsey's, looks like you broke a good thing....

Great for doggie day care!

I love this place. I take my dog here every day for doggie day care and he loves it. The staff are warm and friendly, they are flexible with my schedule (sometimes I have to drop him off a little early) and my pup is always happy. When my dog was sick and unable to go to daycare, they actually called to check up on me and my pup throughout the next 2 weeks while he was getting better. I've never had my dog groomed here, but in terms of day care, I couldn't ask for better service.

A groomer that doesn't bother to bathe your dog

BELIEVE ALL OF THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS about Kelsey's Dog House. THEY ARE TRUE. My dog was there for 8 1/2 hours and when I picked her up, I could tell that she was not clean, only slightly damp. I just paid $55 for a nail trim. Kelsey's please stop keeping peoples pets all day and taking there $ for no service. This is a RIP OFF!

Love Kelsey's!

We love Kelsey's! My dog loves to play with all of the other dogs and we can barely hold onto the leash as she barrels into the place! The staff are friendly and always seem to know the dogs that are coming in. The personal nature of the place makes it comfortable and appealing. I'm happy and my dog is happy. Nothing could be better.

Say Goodbye to my business

I just found out this week that our favorite groomer at Kelsey's is no longer there! Lisa apparently left due to a 'famliy emergency'.....well guess what Kelsey's? My business is also leaving you!!! We have tolerated your inconsistencies for well over a year now since the new owner took over and we have not been happy with the lack of customer service we have recieved since the old staff and Dawn left. I HIGHLY HIGHLY discourage anyone from taking their dogs to Kelsey's anymore, especially since Lisa is gone, which as many people seemed to have already stated, was the only reason worth staying. This business is just no longer the same and our dog hasn't had much enthusiasm to go there over the last few months and there have been several instances where I have heard the staff yelling at the dogs in the back and outside. I cannot believe the owner continues to let this kind of behaviour escalate as it has. They really are nothing but a bunch of money hungry people who don't care about giving good service or the happiness and welfare of your animals. No more we are done! We heard the old staff is at another facility so we will follow them there!

What a difference a year makes!

Kelsey's has new owners. I noticed that the staff was slowly but surely leaving, but I just found out that the head groomer, Lisa quit!!! She was the only reason why I continued to take my dogs there! To add insult to injury, the owner is telling Lisa's clients that she moved due to a family emergency!! How disgusting!!! My neighbor also told me that Lisa hasn't groomer his dogs in months!!! We have both have always requested Lisa. That would explain the awful haircuts the past 4 visits!!! I'm taking my business elsewhere. Someplace where I won't be lied to about who's grooming my dog!!!! Save your time and money.

Gross

I am furious at this place after taking my Shih tzu to the vet and being told that she has oral papillomas(warts). I asked the front desk if they noticed little white pockets on her gums. No one seemed to notice or know where they came from. I asked if they thought if was contagious and was quickly told "no". The vet says that they are HIGHLY contagious. Take your dogs here if you want an vet bill and sick dog!

One Disappointing Experience Is All it takes

I got a new puppy a few months ago and wanted to start having my Pomeranian groomed at Kelseys after seeing my friends two poms groomed there. I was very impressed with their cuts but she had mentioned it has gotten harder and harder to get an appointment with her groomer lisa. When I finally got on the book to get my dog groomed I found out that my dog would not be groomed by lisa. I was very annoyed. I decided to give another groomer a try and gave instructions on what I wanted. When I picked my dog up I was shocked at how short they had taken her coat. They did not follow any of the instructions I gave them and seemed very unapologetic about it. Although I love the idea of Kelseys I was not at all pleased with the one visit we've had there. The staff seem very unhappy and not willing to give good customer service. Not only did I not get the groomer I wanted but also not the groom for my dog. I will not be going back to Kelseys again. Especially after Reading all the previous reviews and also hearing one of the staff members yelling at the dogs in the outside area. Completely unacceptable!!!

Great service and happy dogs

I have been bringing my dog to Kelsey's for years now and have been nothing but pleased with there servise. I have know both the old and the new owners and have found no reasons to complain. My dog absolutely loves it at Kelsey's and I couldn't think of a better place or better people to leave my dog with.

Lisa Is The ONLY Reason To Stay

I have been a long standing client as many others of Kelseys until a few months ago I noticed a huge change in the atmosphere there. Everytime I would drop off or pick up my shihpoo I noticed there was a lot of tense energy in the building with the staff. I was on a first name basis with everyone and knew I could feel safe and secure leaving my dog there. Now coming into Kelseys everything is different and I don't believe I can trust leaving my dog in the hands of the INEXPERIENCED staff that currently works there, with the exception of Lisa who has been the head groomer for years. Lisa is the only reason I would continue to bring my dog there. But recently I went to have my dog groomed and when I got him back I could tell Lisa did NOT groom my dog although they assured me when I dropped off it would be Lisa. I should have known something was wrong when I asked to speak with Lisa about his groom and they refused to get her. After finally getting my dog home I called and asked who groomed my dog and sure enough it wasn't Lisa. They are LIARS and will do anything to take your money. The new lady that owns it, Michelle or Melissa, is so cold and unfriendly and she always is on the phone & keeps clients waiting in the lobby instead of attending to those of us waiting to pay & pick up our dogs. Steer clear of Kelsey's unless Lisa is your groomer, it looks as if it is unraveling at the seams! Be weary of Kelsey's!! They are money hungry & don't care about the welfare of your pups!

Behind the scenes!

I too was a very loyal customer to Kelsey's until recently, I was VERY disappointed when I dropped my two Yorkies off and peaked through the fence out back. One of the employees was "harshly handling" the dogs as she put the larger dogs out. Not only did I feel that the dogs were being mistreated, but the girl in the back was taliking on her cell phone about the owner! Obviously the ENTIRE previous staff is gone and the new staff doesn't like their jobs. I no longer feel comfortable leaving my dogs there! Kelsey's use to be such a happy and upbeat place. Now the rooms smell, (which makes my dogs smell when they come home) the lawn looks shabby and the customer service sucks! Look for another place if you love your dog!

Losing some of what made it great...

I have been a loyal and free spending customer for over 2.5 years. Over the past 3 months or so, the staff has turned over 100 %. In that time, I was told a new addition to my family was a bully. I had that new family member assessed by professionals (at my own expense) and was told no issue existed. It breaks by heart to see this business take the turn it has. Thank goodness the former staff has reached out and given me an alternative solution similar to that which made me a loyal Kelsey's client initially. I wish Kelsey's success, but you need to look at your business model (more importantly people skill sets) to continue to thrive. Your client base cares for their canine friends and has the disposable income to look at better alternatives.

Worst Groomer in Atlanta

I am very disheartened by the quality of service and cuts now given by Kelsey's. I had been a client for several years. I had always been very impressed with the staff and the professional level of service. However, as all the other current reviews have said, the place has gone downhill since the new ownership. Kelsey's charges top level prices for poor level cuts. I highly recommend finding another place for your doggies. The rude staff and bad customer service are not worth it. Suggestions for other groomers: Dog Days is around the corner...hell Petsmart could do a better job than these people

I agree with a lot of the reviews especially with respect to how well Dawn ran the place. I've seen a few changes since she sold the place, but I still bring my dog there for boarding.
