Dr. Carrie Friedewald & Dr. Melissa Roberts as well as their entire staff go beyond all expectations to help patients and clients alike. Kennesaw Mountain Animal Hospital is a practice dedicated to providing our pets with quality health care as well as quality of life. But they don't stop there; I was going through a very rough time with multiple pets (I had 8) when I walked through their door. I met Dr. Roberts once in a social setting many months before, other than that I was a total stranger. I was leaving on a trip that could not be postponed and had a pet that most likely would need major surgery for cancer while I was gone. The entire staff was eager to help, volunteered to transport from the referral practice and provide all care for my pet as needed until my return. Unfortunately, their kindness was not needed after all as the cancer was inoperable and my pet was not going to enjoy any quality of life. So instead, Dr. Roberts compassionately euthanized Missy the day before I left and took care of all the arrangements so I could focus on other commitments. That was over a year ago and I have not experienced anything but expert care since. In fact Dr. Friedewald diagnosed a condition in one of my pets that had eluded other competent veterinarians for years, which actually saved me money as well as alleviating my poor dog from a constant irritation and pain. This is a practice full of talented, super competent, compassionate people who love animals and their people.

Dr. Carrie has been my vet since 2005. Over this time she has treated six of my cats. My cats aren't easy. We have/are dealing with epilepsy, glaucoma, asthma, back pain, constipation, food allergies, ear issues, diarrhea, blindness, bladder stones and other issues. Dr. Carrie has performed many dentals, an eye removal due to glaucoma, bladder stone surgery and two neuters on my kids plus many more procedures. I too followed Dr. Carrie from another practice to KMAH. Here you will find another amazing vet in Dr. Melissa Roberts. Dr. Roberts diagnosed and helped treat one of mine for pancreatitis and lovingly helped us say goodbye to one that was suffering. The pancreatitis treatment was a Fri-Mon treatment and I was allowed to come in every day and visit with her, even Saturday and Sunday. In addition to Dr. Roberts and Dr. Carrie, you will find the best vet techs and wonderful office staff. You will also feel welcome when you walk in the front door. My last two kittens were dumped in the parking lot of KMAH where they were taken care by the entire staff until we decided to adopt them. I can't imagine going to another vet's office with my furry kids.

I have trusted and known Dr. Carrie for 10 years. When she moved from a previous practice I followed her exclusively because I trust her with my clan of animals. When I have an issue, she is the one I know will be honest, and treat my pet as her own. When Dr. Melissa joined the team I found these same qualities in her as well. She has performed surgeries on 2 of my pets within the past year, the most recent one being my 9 month old kitty with a large foreign body. Nine inches of her intestine had to be removed, and she was close to death, however, due to the skill and aptitude of Dr. Melissa, Dr. Carrie and the entire staff at Kennesaw Mountain she pulled through and is running around happily today. Whenever any of my friends have a pet that has any kind of medical issue, I always recommend Kennesaw Mountain. They take the time to get to know you, your precious pet, and go the extra mile to get them healthy!

Dr. Carrie and Dr.Melissa know all of the individual issues my pets have, as well as all of the weird quirks they possess. They work hard to make sure that each pet gets the individual attention they deserve and the ultimate care. I have total confidence in this veterinary hospital!

We had been clients of Kennesaw Mountain Animal Hospital for 2 years so they new my dog and his age. I brought my 11 1/2 yrs old Bernese Mountain Dog (average life span of a Berner is 10 yrs old) to KMAH cause I feared that he had once again eaten a foreign object. An x-ray confirmed that, and he needed surgery. I told KMAH that due to his age and the fact that he had had surgery and an extremely complicated recovery 4 months earlier for the exact same thing (1st surgery was not performed by KMAH), that my husband and I had made the difficult decision to euthanize since it wasn't fair to my elderly dog to put him through that again. KMAH responded by asking me to sign custody of my dog to them so that they could perform the surgery and rehome him. Obviously I wasn't going to give up my dog, so feeling I had no other options, I agreed to surgery. The surgery itself was successful. 36 hours post op, due to the fact it was the weekend, they transferred him to the emergency clinic, where we found out that our dog was in in really bad shape and was suffering the same post-op complications he endured after his previous surgery 4 months ago. KMAH seemed completely unaware of the severity of these complications, though they had been made fully aware of the results of his last surgery, When we picked him up, KMAH never mentioned to us that our dog was doing poorly. Two hours after admission to the ER, we euthanized him due to the severity of the complications.
