Today I tried to resell a few boxes of gently used infant and toddler girl clothing, plus some kids toys. For one I arrived at the store to resell at 3:00 p.m. and was second on the list. The clerk stated that although they were busy come back in 2 hours and my stuff should be done. I said that was fine. I called 3 hours later they were just starting and I was a little confused. I drove back to the store to find that no one seem to be working on anything or acknowledged me when I walked in the store. After being in the store 15 mins. I approached the counter and asked the 3 girls about my stuff. They had rejected all my stuff. I was totally ticked off and wanted to know why. Their excuse was that it was old and looked wore and dirty. They wouldn't take the 2009 Graco baby swing, Boppy, or Fisher Price Play Door. They claimed that they were dirty after I explain that my daughter drew on them with a pen in the car. And that they had too much girls stuff and they weren't excepting anymore seasons girl clothes. I told the girl how is that so, I called yesterday, and that morning and you didn't say that. In the end the offered me $21 for my stuff they would take. You tell me is this the kind of place you want to do business with? What a rip off!

This was my first time selling clothes to them and they ripped me off. I brought two big totes of baby clothes and a lot of them were outfits. They said they give more for outfits. I had stride rite shoes, most of the clothes were Gymboree, Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and Old Navy brands. They only gave me $1.24 for each piece! I was in the car feeding my baby so my husband had to handle the transaction. he didn't know any better. It was pouring down rain so I couldn't go through the totes and see what they took. Learn your lesson from me. Look through your stuff and make sure they give what your stuff is worth, if not take it back. You will get more $ in a yard sale. By the way ALL the stuff had no stains, rips or tears, most was only worn once.

We're so sorry to hear that your selling experience was not what you had hoped it would be. Please know that we do our best to communicate with our vendors that coming to us is similar to doing a yard sale in regards to the funds you will receive for your items. We realize that we are just one of the many options out there for children's resale / consignment and appreciate that you took the time to give us a try. Additionally, due to the quantity of infant items we see each day we must be extremely selective in these sizes. I've sold to this place several times but in the past year, I just don't know what has happened. The staff is rude and the amount they offer you is humiliating. I am not that hard up for cash from my son's previously worn clothes, etc. but it's like this place takes advantage of people. They offer you maybe 20% of what your item is worth. You are better off going to Once Upon A Child or using Craigslist.

We do apologize that somehow your message was overlooked for so long, as well as the fact that you were unhappy with the offer you received for your items. We are well aware that we are just one option out there for children's resale / consignment and may not be the best fit for everyone. That said, we do try to honestly represent what we are able to pay out for items and always offer our customers the option to decline the offer. My very first visit there was not ok. I bought a boppy, took it home to wash it only to find that it was completely ripped on the inside. I called the store, spoke w/a manager who said I could return the item for store credit or exchange it as long as I had my receipt. Went back w/the receipt to only be told by another person that b/c I did not have the tag I could not do that. The lady that I spoke w/on the phone was standing there w/the other mgr & said, Oh I didn't ask her if she had the tag still & they just looked at each other. If I would've been told to keep the tag, I would've went & got the tag out of the trash; however, I wasn't so I didn't! So I drove 45 min OUT OF MY WAY to exchange the item only to be told no. If your "store policy" is that you have to ALSO have the tag off the item, then it needs to be stated on ur receipt as well as the signs in ur store (WHICH IT IS NOT). I will NEVER be back & I will NEVER give this place a recommendation.

Ms. Carter, It has come to my attention that despite my request for a prompt resopnse to your complaint it did not occur. Please read the following draft of an email which should have been sent more than a month ago: "I am writing to extend my sincere apologies for your experience on Monday June 4th.
I personally accept all responsibility for this negative experience. I did not know that you had previously spoken with another associate about exchanging the Boppy pillow that was damaged when purchased, nor did I ask any questions of why you were exchanging the Boppy in the first place. Had I done this, I can assure you we would have exchanged the Boppy pillow.
I am returning the purchase price of the Boppy ($10.59) to a store account should you allow us a chance to win you back as a loyal customer.

This is the second review I have written for this store. I was frustrated before about the staff not being updated on policies or what items were being taken, and the owner made amends and really went the extra mile. I visited the store a few more times and spent quite a bit of money there. My last visit was so horrible, I will NEVER return to this place again. If I was given a $500 gift card to this place, I still wouldn't return. The staff is RUDE and they have the most ridiculous policies, if you want to call them that. I had a gift card for a free item up to $4.99. So I picked out a shirt for $4.50 and I was going to purchase another shirt for around $2.00. The woman refused to let me use the gift card, saying I needed to buy the lesser valued item. Well, the gift card did NOT have any type of rules or policies written on it, and she didnt want tell me why I had to buy the cheaper item. I tried to purchase them separately, but instead she just wanted to slam my stuff and get a major attitude. The owner really needs to evaluate her staff. I am the customer and I did nothing wrong at all besides try and redeem a gift card that they issues me. If they didnt want people to actually redeem them for free stuff, they shouldn't be giving them out ;) I will never, ever return to this place again!

I was disappointed to read about your disheartening experience at our location. I can see from your recount of events that we clearly missed the opportunity to inquire exactly what types of items you would be bringing in, if we had we could have informed you of all the need materials to purchase a car seat as well as what clothing items are in low demand. We strive everyday to make sure each customer gets the information and attention needed, unfortunately, sometimes we fail to meet our own expectations.

I am a frequent shopper of Kid to Kid and have been for over 2 years. I wouldn't say I'm a regular but the owner always recognizes me and says hello and asks about my family. I am a regular seller here as well. I have not once gotten an itemized bill and have not asked for one. Did this other reviewer? This is a resale store people not a consignment sale. I have done both and they are very different. If you have the time a consignment sale will make you more money and when I had the time I did them, even the monster Kidsignments at the Fair Grounds. But over time I just wore out and thankfully a place like Kid to Kid is around. They give me a fast and easy way to sell. Period. They are fast and friendly. Period. They are not crooks, they are people just like you and I. Bottom line, go to Kid to Kid. Talk to them about the various options, maybe even take a few things if you are so inclined. But I would urge you not to take these reviewers words as gospel truth. I have had a very different experience, and very positive.

Ok, I have to say I have shopped here a few times. Today I took two laundry baskets full of almost new toddler clothes to sell. Out of approximately 50-60 items, they 'accepted' around 10. Really? I was offered about $20 in cash or $24 store credit but was never given a receipt or itemized bill of what value they were giving me for my items. Furthermore, when I asked why they had passed over items from Baby Gap, Carter's, Osh Kosh and Old Navy that were practically new, the manager told me the decision was based on the person who went through my items. Sooo, you're letting your inventory be controlled by a 17 year old with no knowledge of kids' clothes? Also, I stated that I was baffled that they would pass over almost new clothes with NO stains and wear/tear while there are clothes hanging on their racks with pilling, faded/ripped print on the shirts and obvious stains. The manager informed me that would have been an 'oversight'. People, go to a private consignment store or do a consignment sale - do NOT waste your time here at this chain! They do not give you anywhere near the amount that your clothes are worth and I feel there may be some shady numbers being drawn up to cheat their sellers out of money. The manager offered to 'refund my store credit' so that I wouldn't leave unhappy. I mentioned it was too late for that and that I would not be back. Take your business elsewhere.

I have consigned here several times and see the same staff and always the same result unfriendly, rude, rushed. The store itself is not clean & its cluttered. The quality of clothes on the racks leave a lot to be desired. I can honestly say I will never go back in the store or recommend. I have never "rated" a place of business before but after going into the Buford store several times in the past couple of years I can say I will never go back. Every time I always tell myself its just the day everyone has a bad day here or there but EVERY TIME I go in its the same management with the same rushed, rude, unfriendly attitude!
I love this store! Very well organized and clean..prices are great and items are current and vast! GO!

I am expecting #4 and can not imagine shopping anywhere else...Kid to Kid has saved me tons! I used to be a mall shopper and self proclaimed "bargain shopper", but Kid to Kid has helped me learn the true value of children's cloths! I always hit Kid to Kid before I go anywhere else!
I was on-line searching for another location and thought I would check out the reviews for the Buford store..I have sold/shopped several times at this location, swearing each time never to go back...this time I won't..the staff is extremely rude and act like your bothering them..I understand they can be busy at times, still no excuse. I read the above review and agree with the customer about how they choose clothing..I to have been given back clothing that was in great condition as well as name brand. Then, I look on the racks, HORRIBLE!! I have found shirts with stains, ratty looking PJ's, etc...I understand this is your store, your choice, just don't get it..also have overheard other customers saying the same. The one reason I am writing this is that a few of the reviews look like they probably came from one or some of the employees and that makes more bad business for me!!! It's a shame, nice place and very close to me...I will try Duluth, thanks for letting me know that!!

I've sold my baby stuff in Buford location and I'm not really satisfied with their pricing. Some staff are not really nice and rude. They are not warm to the customers. As I was waiting one customer was so mad she told me she's never ever gonna go back to sell her stuff there or even shop.She showed me the clothes that she was trying to sell most of them has tags and branded and she told me she only will get small amount of money for her nice stuff so she backed out and she told me that the staff are rude too. After 1 hour of wait I only got 12 dollars, it's so ridiculous. I mean I know the stuff I brought in, I picked them really well coz I know how picky they are there and with 1 bin of clothes and shoes they probably just took 10 or less of my items. It was already 12 noon so that lady sorting looks like she was in a hurry and they were arguing too and talking bad about one of their co-workers. 1 hour of wait and 12 dollars with my 19 month old already fussy I stormed out and I swore I will never ever go back to that store. DULUTH location is a good one. I got $37.00 dollars cash, which was acceptable for the nice stuff I brought in. I know my baby stuff, I love quality clothes and I take care of my kids stuff so that person sorting knows and she pay attention. They are very nice too and very warm to the customers.

I was disappointed to see that you had such a bad experience in our store. Kid to Kid Buford has been successfully in business for 3 years because we strive to keep both our vendors (customers who sell to us) and our guests (customers who buy from us) happy and feeling appreciated. I only hope that I may have an opportunity to speak with you personally regarding this experience. You seem very knowledgable about our company and have shopped and sold to multiple locations. I am sure you know it only hurts our business to not purchase quality, gently used items. Without those items we have nothing to sell and hence no business. Each store does maintain different levels of inventory, one store may be low in one area of product but too full in another. For this reason selling to multiple locations can be beneficial. Finally, please have my personal assurance that the concerns you have regarding the pleasantness and professionalism of the staff will be addressed on an individual basis with each team member. No Kid to Kid ever condones rude behavior either towards our customers or regarding another team member and ours is no exception. I've been shopping at the Kid to Kid in Buford for 4 years! Why pay retail when you can find quality name-brand clothes for $2.99-$5.99? The store is clean, organized and has a great variety. The resale toys are in good condition. Just be aware of the return policy. I believe you have 7 days to return a non-clearance item. So be sure to test any equipment and try on clothes before your time expires. Love this store!

A mother likes to plan ahead right? I purchased a video monitor from this store before my child was born. When we brought him home from the hospital, we hooked up the monitor and it did not work. I called the store to see if I could bring the broken item back and they said that too much time had elapsed since I bought it. $65 down the drain! So much for a mom planning for the birth of her baby. The store only allows 7 days for returns and does not accept returns on electronics AT ALL! Beware Mommies!

I am sorry to hear about this experience. I have just begun to monitor this review site and had I known about this experience sooner I would have reached out to try to correct the problem. Please know that you may test any product thoroughly prior to purchasing. Additionally, we will provide any information that you may need, ie internet searches, instruction manuals emailed to you etc. However, once a product is purchased we do need to know of any problems as soon as possible. We are a resale store and sell previously used items. We cannot carry the same warranty as retail stores. If we hear from a customer within 7 days that an item is not working as promised we make every effort to correct the problem up to and including exchanging the item or offering store credit.
This is by far one of my favorite places to shop! The people that work there are extremely nice and helpful, the inventory is always changing, and if I can't find what I need they'll tell me when it comes in. Of course the prices are always great too. ;) You can't go wrong shopping here!
