My children have been at this center for the past 4 years. My 2 youngest, now 2 and 4, have been here since the infant room. This place is our home away from home. My children have learned so much... from their caring and loving teachers! My oldest child attended another facility for a short time and was miserable. We switched to Kids R Kids Pleasant Hill and have been so happy!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
These people do not care for your child at all. They see the children as pure profit. They feed your child cheap food. They keep the doors open and it is not safe at all for your child. Some of the... teachers look like they were picked up in the street. If your child gets hurt they don't tell you unless your child display some marks WTH! I will never send my child to this place never again! They never sanitize the toys even though they have the sanitizing equipment on site. All of the toys are out of batteries and they look like they have not been cleaned for years. You pay over $1000 to have your child treated this way. Save your money...and your CHILD!VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »

I wish you would have taken as much time to address your concerns when your child attended, as none of these concerns were brought to our attention by any of our customers. You posted anonymously so I'll address you now: At Kids R Kids Pleasant Hill Learning Academy, every child is important to us and is treated as an individual. We take pride in the relationships that we develop with our families. As we posted before, we feed 200-250 children breakfast, two snacks, and lunch daily. Our menus not only comply with the guidelines of the Federal Food Program, they exceed them. We recently received the Georgia Shape Award in recognition of our health-conscious menus. Substitutions are offered to accommodate special dietary needs. Our front door is monitored by management, and there is a security lock that we control. Customers are nice and often hold the door open for each other. We see this. We also have security cameras monitoring our parking lot, doorways, and classrooms. We provide incident reports to guardians in the event an accident happens. Usually we call the parent and send a photo of any marks that appear. Sometimes children get minor scrapes and cuts when they play. These are not always apparent, especially if the child is content. Toys children play with are either sanitized chemically or in our ZONO machine daily. They are used by multiple children, replaced when broken, and maintained properly. Our staff members wear uniforms that are designed to allow them to comfortably play with children on the floor at their level. Each is educated in Early Childhood Education, and is trained to care for children in group a setting. At Kids R Kids, we understand that parents are overstressed and busy. Perhaps you could have communicated better and you would have been happier. More than 200 other Kids R Kids Pleasant Hill Learning Academy customers don't share your concerns. Once again, I'm sorry you had a bad experience at our location, if you were actually a customer here.
We have only been using daycare in the ATL area for about 7 months and have been nothing but happy with Kids R Kids. After having been a stay at home mom for 4 years they helped my family adjust to the changes and love my girls when they have them. My girls love their teachers as well as all the extra activities offered. They look forward to the field trips and dance days!
Kids R Kids - Pleasant Hill truly embodies what a childcare learning facility should be. The administrators and the teachers embrace the family, not just the child. I appreciate the detailed information that I get from the teachers in the one-year old AND the four-year old private Pre-K classrooms. When we first moved to Duluth, my boys were in a childcare facility where I'm pretty sure they learned nothing. My oldest could never recall anything he did learned all day and there was no correspondence to me about what was being taught. Private Pre-K: Now, not only do I know what to expect for the year, I have detailed descriptions as to what will happen each week. I really love that they take field trips twice a month too. The teachers use ABC Mouse as a part of the curriculum and integrate technology via tablets and a smart board too. One Year Old Class: The teacher is already starting my youngest to potty train with no tears! The children complete an art project at least three times a week. I also like that they read books to the children daily. I highly recommend this particular Kids R Kids!
My daughter Maddie has been going to Kids 'r' Kids #27 for about a year and a half now and we are both very happy. The staff is always friendly and helpful, they have a clear love for kids, and my daughter is expertly cared for. She is a complete "Momma's girl" and always goes willingly into their arms. It is such a nice feeling to know that she is in good hands, and if I ever want to I can check in on the cameras and see what she is up to. I highly recommend this facility to any parent.
My son is 4 and has attended several other daycares since he was 6 weeks old. This Kid R Kids is hands down the best facility that I have ever seen. My son has been attending since March 2012. I have never once had an issue. Julie (the owner) and Stevie (the director) are always engaged and helpful. They are always available for me to talk with if I need anything. The teachers are kind and engaging. The facility is amazingly clean. My son has been sick markedly less since attending this school. He used to come home from other facilities sick every other week it seemed. It is surprisingly rare for him to be sick now, and I credit the cleanliness of this facility with that. For my son, I wanted a warm affectionate environment balanced against superior educational components. We get all that and more here. I hope you come see the love and care the entire team puts into the care of your child.
My son has been going to this KRK location since he was about 10 months old and he enjoys it. I changed his school for a few months but I ended up bringing him back to attend their private pre k. They offer a lot of extra curricular activities for the students. Ms. Grace in the private pre k is very good with the children, he's learned a lot since he's been there. It is usually clean and for the most part the staff is friendly.
My children have been going to Kids R Kids #27 since they were newborns. I brought my children there because the center was highly recommended by my co-workers, and now I have several friends with children who go to the center. I have always been pleased with the level of attention my children receive, and any concerns are addressed in a professional way. The staff has always been friendly and supportive.
My daughter has been here for several months now, after we switched her from another daycare. I have been very impressed with the cleanliness, organization and management of this facility. It is such a relief to be able to leave my daughter somewhere that she feels safe and enjoys her time here very much. Her teachers are patient and kind, and effectively communicate with me regarding her progress. I definitely recommend Kids R Kids Pleasant Hill Academy to my friends and family in the area.
My daughter has been going here since she was 9 months old, and my nephew just started too (after all the wonderful things we've always said about this great staff and facility)! I'm always amazed at how much these teachers are able to teach to such young children!
I have worked at different schools, including Gwinnett County Public Schools, and have found this school to be one of the best. The owners and directors are deeply engaged and truly care about the school's families and the well being and education of their children. The teachers go above and beyond to make impactful relationships with their children. I have personally seen my two children thrive here and learn so much. I love working here and view this place as a home and the staff as my second family. Anyone who is looking, not just for childcare, but for their child to grow to their full potential should not hesitate to come to this school.
I am very happy with Kids R Kids Pleasant Hill! I am a very involved parent and drop by the school often and I am always comfortable that my babies are being taken care of. When I have had concerns (which have not been often over the last 4 years), they were addressed promptly and with true concern. If you are looking for a place to really care for and educate your children, definitely give them a try. You'll likely see me there!
All 3 of my children have atteneded this center from the infant room all the way through school-age. The staff is always friendly and welcomes us with smiles each morning. The enrichment programs they offer are amazing. My daughter loves the Mandarin Chinese classes that are taught and she comes home singing in Chinese all the time. The front desk staff always listens to my concerns and knows me and my children by name. I don't feel like just another "number." I am very pleased with the care that my children have received and would recommend this center to any one who is looking for a child care center for their child.
As a mom, I have to trust where and with whom I leave my child. This school leaves no doubt in my mind that he is at the right place! Time and time again, my child comes home with new information and knowledge that continues to amaze me. My husband and I work full time jobs and love that this school feels like an extention of our family. These teachers love my child like his is their own and that means the world to me. I love everything about it from the Parent's Night Outs (which are great for a parental Saturday night out!) to the fun and exciting field trips. I will continue to send my son here until he's too old! :)
I pulled my daughter out of this daycare after about half a year. It seems like almost everything the kids eat is either out of a can or a box - at least half the food. At home, we eat fresh fruits, vegetables, and grains. My daughter was picking up bad eating habits from her daycare. It seems like they feed the kids the absolute cheapest foods they can buy, which makes me sad (and ticks me off a little, considering I'm paying good money to put her in school there). Their front desk staff is nice, but their teachers....let's just say if some of the teachers approached you on the street looking to babysit your children, you'd think to yourself "there's no way I'm trusting you with my kid!" Very unprofessional appearances, bad attitudes....you really get the impression they are doing this for the paycheck rather than a love for children. I have heard on two occasions one staff member muttering untoward things under her breath about the children. My daughter was sick constantly when she was here. Security at this facility is pretty poor as well (people slip in and out during dropoff and pickup without signing in, no door codes, etc). Parking is a nightmare when it's busy, they need a parking lot double that size. Overall, I just couldn't justify continuing to take my daughter here when there are so many better facilities around with more professional / pleasant / intellectual staff, better facilities, and higher standards.
Thanks for posting. I wish you would have taken as much time to address your concerns when your child was in our care. You posted anonymously so I'll address your concerns now:
At Kids R Kids Pleasant Hill Learning Academy, we feed 200-250 children breakfast, two snacks, and lunch daily. Our menus not only comply with the guidelines of the Federal Food Program, they exceed them. We offer hot breakfast, fresh fruit (seasonally available) and yogurt for morning snack, a variety of culturally diverse meals which appeal to children for lunch, and snacks which include whole grain crackers and limited 100% juice. We also consider religious beliefs and allergies when feeding each child. Substitutions are offered to accommodate special dietary needs. Children are picky eaters. We do our best to satisfy them and their parents.
Our front door is monitored by management, and there is a security lock that we control. Customers are nice and often hold the door open for each other. We see this. We also have security cameras monitoring our parking lot, doorways, and classrooms. Parents who follow our procedures DO sign their children in and out electronically. (It seems those who do not are those who owe tuition.)
Gwinnett County and Duluth required 22 parking spaces. We have 28, and have an agreement with the Gwinnett Clinic to use their parking spaces as needed. During busy drop-off and pick-up times, we offer carpool. Most customers are understanding and allow extra time during these peek times. (Perhaps your car was hit by another who was pulling out because you were in too much of a hurry to wait for them?)
Most importantly, I'm sorry you found any of our staff members to be rude or unprofessional. Our managers would have corrected this immediately if we had been made aware of your concerns. Every staff member is well educated in early childhood education and group child care methods. They go above and beyond for the children. They want each parent to spend a few minutes each day talking with them, rather than dropping and running. This helps ensure that parents are happy with the care their child receives. Perhaps the staff member was annoyed the child arrived with no coat in December. Maybe the child arrived sick and medicated to mask it. Perhaps she was frustrated because the parent hadn't provided diapers or a clean change of clothes. Perhaps she realized she would spend her morning bathing the child who came in wearing last night's dirty diaper. At Kids R Kids, we understand that parents are overstressed and busy. It takes a village to raise a child. Perhaps you could have communicated better and you would have been happier, as I know our teachers care. Maybe for you, a nanny would have been more appropriate. Because, more than 200 other Kids R Kids Pleasant Hill Learning Academy customers don't have the issues you did.
Once again, I'm sorry you had a bad experience at our location.
