Shortly after my post, I received a bill for services, the original receipt, and a voided receipt for the extra transaction added to my card. So far, I am pleased with the work performed. I had a custom inground pool installed this summer by King Cole Pools. What an experience! The pool is gorgeous and overall it was a wonderful experience. I would highly recommend this business. Lynne G./Latrobe, PA
Do not use this business. The owner Bill tells so many tales he can not keep them straight. I was told 10 days for a new liner and we are now on day 21! He says his employess are salaried then says they are paid by the pool, we are 5th then 9th in line, they do 4 then 2 pools a day. I was told it would take the pooliner a few days to come in so I offered to pick another liner. I was told by Bill, that was not necessary,and finally we were scheduled for Thurs. I called Bill (he said he has too many people and can't call every one when they cancel)to verify as I had to take day off and was told it rained, they are behind ,they can't give me a date, and now today the pool liner is on back order. I quess he did not know that before we set the install date or when I spoke with him yesterday? RUN AWAY! Do not believe a thing they say.

After much thought we decided to have a inground pool installed. After six estimates & some research (evidently not enough) we decided on King Cole Pools. His price was in the middle, his salesmanship was great. We gave him a deposit on May 5. Through no fault of Bills, we could not get the permit until June 12. He dug on June 13, the day I signed the contract & informed us that they sent the wrong pool & if we wanted it now, we would have to pay an additional $810. (their first mistake). It poured down rain in the middle of the dig. When the pool walls were installed (3 wks later) the pool was crooked. Contstruction supervisor said "lets just pour the footer then see how it looks"?? Yes we had rain, but the liner was not installed until July 12 and it was the wrong liner, 3 more days to get the right one. Finally water in the pool on July 15th. Called to schedule the conrete for the decking. Bill says "he's behind will be 4-6 weeks. Finally, we hired our own decking guy and had it done in 5 days. Oops, wrong light, we will have to take it out or charge you more. Rough grading, not even a bank would approve. We had to pay upfront the excavator, and concrete guys, which we were told - after we signed the contract - that we could take off the final bill. Oh yes, King Cole had about 95% of their money in cash, a week after the hole was dug, and the pool was 95% INCOMPLETE. Hey, is frontloading a contract even legal in PA?
Just to qualify John Gurnick's review -- He came to King Cole Pools & threatened Bill Cole. I was not there and an employee called the police. They came to the store and John Gurnick was so belligerant that the police suggested that we contact our attorney and take the steps that we did. I won't tell you about the foul language that he used, but I will tell you that he is the type of customer that NO ONE would want. He turned us in to the BBB and didn't win that and also to a tv station and did not succeed there either. This is just to shed some light on the situation. Thank you. Ellen Cole
My pool will be 5 years NEXT YEAR, And I've been fighting with king cole pools from year 1, it started to rust.The 3rd year Bill came to our house and promised my family he would give us a new WALL ,Track,and a new Liner. When I asked Bill what this would cost me he said a CHEESE BUGER..When the Boss of the family Ellen found out what Bill Shock my hand on ,she Made BILL renig on his deal,and Tried to have me aressesed ,then had her Attorney send me a letter to never contact them. Well you guessed it if I can't contact them I can't get them, or should I say Her to fix my pool.I live a 710 N. 4th. Street in Jeannette. Before you buy a pool from them stop and see mine I 'll also show you the letter from her Attorney and the e-mails she sent me.Yeah I'm the one with the sign in the yard
