great teachers, creative & dedicated leadership
Our son went to a Montessori school for a year before attending Kingfisher. One thing I learned from that experience is that any school that must adhere to one teaching methodology can never really "follow the child." Not all children learn in the same way. Kingfisher takes different approaches. Learning happens in groups, in projects, or individually. Kingfisher does what works, not what a methodology tells them to do.
Kingfisher’s approach nurtures the whole child and loves the child for who he is (not who he should be). This philosophy extends to the outside world through teaching children to resolve conflicts, show respect, and have compassion for one another. I remember a story of one field trip where the children were thinking about all of the different jobs that people can have. They talked about how there is respect and dignity in every job and that even the dishwasher should take pride in what he does for a living.
Kingfisher doesn’t have a fancy web site and they don't rent the most pristine facilities. Instead, they spend that tuition on the important stuff - teaching children. Their goal is to bring small-scale, affordable, quality education to children.
Kingfisher is an incredible school with great teachers, creative and dedicated leadership, and a curriculum that is not only innovative and rigorous, but one that is truly affordable. I recommend it wholeheartedly!
