This is by far the best surgeon in his field. I also have worked in Healthcare & have seen in action. I have seen other doctors entrust their own care & their families care in his hands. He is the physician that you want around if you ever have a airway problem & it is a life or death situation. His one downfall is sometimees time issues, but just remember that he is in a specialty where diversions are frequent and that one day it might be you he is urfently caring for while others are complaining about his delay. Good docs are worth the wait! I trust him with my families care.

This doctor has taken care of me throughout my childhood. He is a great example to someone young like me on what hard work and compassion really represent. He has always taken good care of me. In response to those who dislike him - you had one bad experience versus my years in his care. Everyone has a bad day or personal issue they can't always hide from the public. Wouldn't see anyone else!

I went to see this man per the recommendation of my primary care doc. The 1st time I went I had an apt. with Dr Kowal and when I got there he was not in the office and the recept. told me that she tried to get me but couldn't She did not try my cell phone. She asked if I wanted to see the other dr. I agreed because I had a chronic sore throat that had been going on for months. This guy was unimpressive. He didn't test me for strep but gave me an antibiotic. I got better for a week and then was sick again. Went back this time to see Dr. Kowal.....supposed to be "the better of the two". The walls are paper thin and as I sat in the exam rm I heard everything wrong with the patient on my rt and lft. The rm was filthy! The same stain on the trash can as the first appt I had a month earlier! Dr. K. proceeded to have a huge argument w/his nurse outside my rm . They were yelling at eachother and it was so unprofessional. I was frightened really had no idea where this was going....so I decided to leave. This Dr. is a quack and his office is really dirty. Oh he had his nurse call me (on my cell) about 15 min after I left to say they were "just kidding around". I am 44 yrs old. I have had a few verbal arguments in my yrs. and this was NOT KIDDING. It was UNPROFESSIONAL> Enter this office at your own risk.

Some years ago I had sinus surgery done by this doctor, he left a hole in my septum which I was not informed of until I went to Emory. I do not trust the man. I would not recommend him to anyone.

After seeing four ENT's in the Atlanta area, with no appreciable results, for a suspicous swelling under my ear, I have nothing but praise for Dr. Keith Kowal in Fayetteville. Right away, he told me that the swelling was most likely a parotid turmor that should be removed whether it was malignant or not because it could grow around my facial nerves and cause paralysis there. Other doctors had advised me to just watch it, even though evidence from CAT scans showed a mass in the parotid gland. Dr. Kowal had me take another CAT scan, since my previous one was over four years old, and the scan confirmed a large mass. He performed a parotidectomy on me at Piedmont Fayette Hospital on June 9, 2009, and did a superb job of preserving my facial nerves and leaving me with a clean incision that is healing well. Not only that, but the tumor (which was benign, thank God) had begun to grow around the back of my skull. What might have happened if I had just continued to watch it? I totally disagree that he is an unpleasant man with no bedside manner. He has been knowledgeable, honest and encouraging with me throughout this scary process. I do agree that his staff has on occasion been less than helpful, but I spoke with him about it long before my surgery, and I have seen improvements since then. The wait time while in his office can be long, but I have encountered that in every ENT's office I have seen since I moved here from Michigan. Not enough doctors here.

I snore very loudly and stop breathing at night, so I went to Dr. Kowal to be evaluated for a sleep disorder. Had to wait well over 1 1/2 hours before I was called in to see him and then had to wait several more minutes. Appointment was to be made to have a sleep study. After waiting nine days, appointment was not made to have the sleep study. The sleep clinic had to call his office to have the appointment made because only a doctor can make the apointment. Afer the study a report was sent to the doctor and was told to call his office so the doctor could go over the report with me. Did not have a long wait this time. Was informed that a second study had to be made for a CPAP machine and additional studies were needed for the machine. Doctor told nurse to make the appointment. For the second time, no appointment was made at the end of three days and the clinic had to call his office for permission to do the study. He was even told of the first situation. You are only as good as the people that work with you. Had to stay with him or start at the beginning all over with another physician. Planning on going to another doctor after I have my machine because you have to have a prescription from a doctor to get this type of work done and if I started over my insurance would of not paid for two studies. Would not recommend this doctor

What an awful unhappy man. Does not acknowledge you when you go into the room & he spent less then 2 minutes with me while I was in there after my 1 1/2 hour long wait. I had water draining from my ears, swollen nasal cells and dizziness for over a year and he said " you have perfume or plant allergies" and gave me some nasonex or something that did nothing, a year later I am still dizzy. I also found out this year that 2 of my friend have been to him because of course he is the main ent for fayetteville and they both said the same thing "oh you went to dr kowal i hate him i was in there 5 min and he did not help me at all" Worst doctor I have ever been to, did not smile or try to be friendly and obviously im not hte only one who feels the same way about him
