There are many poor reviews for this company, and for good reason. George and his wife are challenging to work with and quite greedy. My grandfather received multiple letters about an additional 300 charge, after a letter stating that he had paid in full. The base is wrong, the top is wrong and the stone took nearly a year to deliver. Phones were consistently left unreturned, the correct product was never delivered, and throughout the process nobody was willing to accept blame. What a frustrating experience to endure, especially after a loss.

I had a great expierence with Kurtz monuments. The owners were caring and helpful. They worked with me to get the best price and final product was all that I expected and more.

I found Kurtz Monument Company to be a very reliable company, true to their word and a staff of caring people. The design was beautiful and customized free of charge. I saved hundreds of dollars over other companies. I am sorry for the negative comments from others, as for me I would highly recommend Kurtz.

I live out of state and Kurtz was very helpful with advice on the selection and design of the stone. They were prompt with all business transactions. I also had an issue with the cemetery due to weather conditions etc.that needed the stone placement to be put on hold. Kurtz was very accomotating to my situation. The stone has since been placed and I am very happy with it.

My mother-in-law passed away two weeks ago. Within a week, I received a letter from Kurtz Monument Company and a brochure from their business. Basically, the letter said sorry for your loss, we want to sell you something. Nobody in our family was inquiring about a monument as she was cremated. I find it disgusting. This company is so bad it has to troll obituaries to try to drum up business.

We ordered a headstone for my father in August of 2014. Nine months later no stone. When they are called they only say they will have someone call back. Out of five telephone calls they responded once, saying the wrong color stone came in. We were told it would take 3-4 months for the color we ordered. If their story about the wrong color were true, it could have been reordered and be installed already. Very unhelpful.

Went there in Jan. after losing my husband unexpectedly.My 1st visit I picked out the color& design after 4 visits the owner assured me the color was right.It took 5 times to get the design right.I was totally devastated when I saw it, I would NEVER order my husband a pink headstone!.The next day I called the owner and she was very rude, called me a liar and hung up on me. I confronted her at the office and I told her word for word our conversation all 9 times I went there, I told her to look me in the eyes and tell me that she made a mistake when she wrote the order up, she threw the contract at me and told me I signed it,I signed it TRUSTING she knew her job, I had no clue what the colors were called, She could not look me in the eyes and told me she did not remember our conversations,& that she NEVER makes mistakes REALLY? She can deny it to me and my 2 Daughters all she wants but she cannot deny it to the man upstairs. Its devastating enough that we lost a husband/father and now every week we go to the cemetery we have to be disappointed knowing in our hearts that is not what we ordered.Owners want to make it right at my expense I already paid them 1,400.00 they want another 600.00+my balance. I don't think so!I pray she never has to endure the pain that we are going through. I would NEVER recommend this Company to anyone!

Absolutely love it. We bought a memorial bench for our son. It was just mounted a few days ago. Beautiful. It's a difficult time for any family. They were caring & very helpful to us. Ryan helped me with the designs, somewhat detailed, he listened and produced exactly as I wanted. Thank you. Talked with Mary on the phone, always friendly and helpful. I wanted it mounted for his birthday, it was mounted three weeks early. Everyone loves it. I am sorry for the other reviewers because it is truly a difficult time for families, and no one needs more grief. That being said, I am happy to say, we are pleased with our experience.

We live in Pgh and my mother passed away and paid alot of money and were vere disappointed with quality of work done. NOTHING was right on her headstone. We were promised for a certain type of stone and George used a cheaper stone and then he was suppose to engrave on the back side of the stone and it was on the front. All we wanted is the stone fixed and the company will not talk to us. We keep getting told to come back. We are fed up and can not get a refund because we can not get ahold of the company.

My father drove an hour and a half from WV to choose a monument for my deceased mother. I live in Pittsburgh and I met him there and we chose a beautiful monument and received a itemized printout and picture of the monument we chose. Kurtz neglected to put a line on that my father chose, "our love is love forever." We called after seeing the monument and noticing the mistake and was treated rudely by the receptionist twice. After having our lawyer call, we did receive a response that they would fix the problem. They never replaced the monument. They sent local company in WV to engrave the line on the stone. Because of Kurtz mistake, they did not have room to engrave it where it was originally suppose to be, so they had to engrave it on the bottom of the base facing up where you can barely see it unless you are facing down. Because my father is so devestated at the loss of my mother, we did not want to upset him any further by pursuing a law suit. We were never offered any sort of refund or discount. Not that we are after money. We just wanted my mother's memory preserved as we chose. We did not get that with Kurtz. Not even a formal apology. We were treated poorly by Kurtz and each time I visit my mother's and eventually my father's grave, I will be reminded of it.
