Awards and Honors: Kyrene was recently honored by the National School Board Association and the Arizona Public Relations Association for it's KTTP, Kyrene Teaches with Technology program.
Kyrene teacher, Sarah Baird is the state's honoree for 2009 Teacher of the Year. Sarah, a National Board Certified teacher since November of 2004, serves as math coach at Kyrene de las Lomas and Kyrene del Milenio in Phoenix. |

Kyrene Facilities Receives AASBO Best Practices Award.
During the last five years, the Kyrene?s energy conservation and utility reduction has resulted in
substantially less energy use and cost. Use of energy management systems, careful scheduling, tracking of
data and a district wide awareness initiative resulted in 12 of 16 elementary schools and 3 of the 6 middle
schools reducing electric use in 2008.
