They are strictly business and do the job. Almost clinical. Don't expect the warm and fuzzies. Communication is done primarily via email and prepayment is required.

We have three dogs of our own and we also foster one dog at a time. So, we always have 4 dogs. We used to board the dogs whenever we went on vacation. When we returned, they were always traumatized by the kennel stay. We found Love Bugs a few years ago and gave the idea of leaving our dogs in their own comfortable environment a try. It was the best thing we could have done for our pack. The dogs have always been well cared for. They receive individual care and attention. Their needs are always met. They do not seem like they are overly stressed when we return. Love Bugs comes out for a preliminary visit to make sure they understand what your pets will need while you are away. They bring in your mail and will put out your trash. We had one experience where we were going to have more than one sitter over the course of our vacation. The owner of the company brought all the sitters to our home and made sure that everyone understood the needs of our dogs. We highly recommend this company. We go on vacation without any worries about the safety and well being of our pets while we are away.

I have never once written an internet review for anything but feel it necessary to let people know that this company failed to provide food for my three cockatiels for a solid week of care (for which I paid them). They tended to the cats sufficiently, but NEVER ONCE gave food to the cockatiels. I left FOUR foods for them: a brand new bag of pellets, a full cannister of seed, a bag of fresh spinach, and brand new honey sticks. When we got home, after more than a week, the birds were shrieking in such panic that I went straight to their cage and saw dishes that looked as if they'd been wiped clean. The dishes were SO clean that I figured someone had wiped them down and forgotten to refill them the last time they were there. Then I checked all four food sources and not one had been TOUCHED for the week--the new bag still unopened, the cannister full, the spinach untouched, and the honey sticks intact beneath the cage. I checked the daily notes LoveBugs left for us and their own notes clearly show that they NEVER ONCE fed the birds. Despite all the clear evidence (including their own daily notes), the owner of the company denies this negligence. It comes down to my word against hers so I have no recourse. But I wanted to make sure other families don't entrust their pets' care to someone who would be so negligent. It's a five-foot cage, by the way, right by the door. It's not something you can miss. Be careful.

I used Love Bugs just recently to watch my two buns when I was out of town. Naturally, the buns can at times be wary of new people but Jennifer (our sitter) made an effort to get them used to her. It's great to know my fur-babies weren't just fed and glanced in on, but actually interacted with and taken care of.

I have been using Love Bugs for over 5yrs and cannot find anything I don't like about them or their service. Michele is excellent. She treats our dogs like family and is very dependable. My mind is at ease when we go out of town. I know our dogs are in good hands.
