Lake Charles kids and adult martial arts instruction. Taihei Tatsu is a system that incorporates hard styles of Japan and Korea with the soft styles of China and ground work of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu on one cohesive system.
Our pre-k classes are developed specifically for kids ages 4-6 and concentrate on gross motor skills, balance, and memory. Other life skills are taught which help the child advance in school and life long after they may stop taking martial art classes.
Our women's.. self defense class concentrates on delaying and escaping an attack. Women are given lifelike tests so they know that they have the skills and confidence to escape a violent situation.
Our students have access to over 15,000 square feet of training space. We have two smaller training rooms with full padded floors. The facility also has 2 spring loaded floors, rope wall, climbing wall, and rope climbs. A pro-pit, spring running mat, elevated landing pads for practicing demonstration aerial techniques.
These are a few of the training elements we use to elevate our martial art training above other schools.
Students can expect a phased training system whereby they learn and concentrate on a set of skills before moving to another skill. This ensures that students develop proper technique and get adequate instruction on the skill.
When students learn a new skill they will concentrate on that skill then learn how to combine it with previous learned skills. This ensures each skill properly incorporated with a full understanding of how it works with other skills.
Students must pass a knowledge and performance test with an 80% or more to advance. These tests are given for every level including the white belt. Beginner students may wear the gi, but the white belt must be earned.
