I have tried for many years to be patient with the Dr. and her staff and am at the end f my rope. I have been a patient of hers for about 10 years. Yes, the staff is rude, office disorganized and the other negative things as well that have been shared. I always believed that if something were wrong, seriously wrong, my needs would rise to the top. NOPE! She promised to call with results from a test and did not do so. After a few days I left multiple messages. and still was not contacted. I'm distraught now over not getting a caall back on an ultrasound where clearly something is not normal.

Dr.Lap is what a doctor should be. I had a pregnancy related illness that brought on post-delivery hemorrhage, it was very serious. She was there from the morning I was in labor till 11 at night overseeing my care, she did not leave the hospital until I was in stable condition and never left me in the hands of another doctor so that she could go home. She takes her time with each patient and allows laboring mothers to do what has been done from the beginning of time, labor! She is always vigilant of the health of mother and baby but does not insist on needless interventions to "speed things up" to fit a convenient time frame for herself. More OB/GYNs like her are needed.

Dr. Lap is amazing! I was looking for a Dr that was supportive of VBACs and I found that and more with her. Throughout my search I found Doctors that selfishly put their priorities before the patient's but with Dr. Lap she truly cares and puts her patients needs and concerns first. Yes, the appointment wait is long and the waiting room hot, but in my opinion well worth it. As far as her staff I have found ( like in most situations) if you are genuinely nice to them then they are nice to you. I would recommend her to anyone but especially those wanting a supportive VBAC Dr.

Dr. Lap is a fine gynecologist, but if you ever have to call the office staff for assistance be prepared for complete attitude. Not only are they inept, but completely unprofessional in their handling of any requests or problems outside of scheduling you an appointment. Even Dr. Lap cannot make up for this mockery of medical office staff. I would suggest going somewhere you can feel like valued patient.

Dr. Lap is a wonderful doctor, I was very glad I was referred to her. I would especially recommend her if you don't like to take the "passive patient" role. She is very opened to your ideas, and spends quality time with her patients. The wait is unbelievably long, and yes the staff is very unprofessional and the place is a mess, but New Orleans definitely isn't know for being clean or professional. Other than the clinic itself, she is a wonderful doctor and highly recommended.

I was at Ochsner with an old-school dr. who poo-pooed my desire for a natural waterbirth. Dr. Lap was referred to me by a doula who works with her regularly. Even though I switched at 30 weeks, she took time to answer my questions, refer me to helpful resources, encourage me to follow my gut about the birth, and even found some abnormlities in my test results from early pregnancy that the Ochsner dr. missed (anemia that was causing fatigue--the other dr. who ordered the test never even gave me the results!). Her office is a disaster and the wait is ridiculously long, but usually because she takes her time with each patient and doesn't let you leave until all questions are answered. Her staff is nice if you are nice to them: welcome to New Orleans, that's how it is here. No fake smiles if you aren't friendly first. I am very happy I switched to her office and am excited she is helping me bring my first baby into the world. I have often heard her referred to as having been a midwife in her past life.

Dr. Lap seems to be a personable and skilled physician. Her office, however, if one of the most disorganized I have ever been to and her staff often rude. As with many doctors, there seems to be a time crush and you must ask to have a one on one conversation with the doctor with your clothes on. I have had to wait upwards of an hour, as much as two hours, for my appointment (being the first appointment of the day, even). The staff has failed to notify me twice of cancelled appointments, and has never called to confirm an appointment. My veternarian's office has much better service. I have been skipped over and also told that I was wasting a staff member's time when I asked a question about transferring records to a specialist.

I was referred to Dr Lap by a very good friend of mind.I had been going from gynecolgy to gynecolgy trying to find the right one for me. When I called to make an appointment I had something that I need to get a second opition on and Dr Lap was the one for me. Her willings to listen and her advice was what prompt me to say that she was the doctor for me. I really enjoy talking to her at my doctor visit she makes you feel at home and that you are not taliking to some stranger and this is what I admirer about her. I wish that there where more doctor's with her personality and her professionalism. Thanks a million!
