I did not realize what a horror the Laureate Group was until I secured a new Dr with the Emory group. Laureate operates as a factory farm and Dr. Kara Pepper does not function well in this environment. To say the least, she is a flake. There is NO follow up or continuity of care between visits.

I don't like to complain, but this place should be on list of BBB as places to avoid. My Doctor Shulman who I have seen for years is excellent. But the logistics of seeing him makes it virtually impossible to set-up appointments. I have excellent insurance, I am a long time patient, I work for a great company, but I can not see him. You can not normally find a receptionist to take your call. You have to leave a message and then prey to God they call you back in a few days and not to miss that call. I can only imagine they have taken on too many patients, and just forget what customer service is. It is a sad state of affairs and it seems they just keep adding more offices without improving service.

I originally wanted to see Dr. Pepper since my friend sees her and had great things to say about her. Well, since there was a 1.5 YEAR waiting period to see her, I chose a different doctor. I've been with Laureate Medical for a couple years now I believe, and I've seen Dr. Delfavro twice. It was over a 6 month wait to see her as a new patient. Now, if I'm sick, I still can't get an appointment for up to two weeks as an established patient, and I'm not happy with the PA who recently sent me on my way only to find out I had bronchitis and pneumonia. It's just easier to go to urgent care.... Calling to schedule an appointment is a whole other monster in itself. Waiting on hold for 26 minutes (yes, you read that right) before finally giving up and leaving a message to be called back. They've expanded offices rapidly, and they simply did not expand personnel to accommodate the influx of call traffic, which is just poor business practice. I love my doctors, have nothing bad to say about any of them. I just wish I didn't have to jump through hoops and wait for months (or weeks still when sick) to see them.

This place is awful. Doctor I saw was nice. I spent only 5-10 minutes there. Billing pratices terrible. They charge $25 for an administrative fee and they say it's because you have to pay at time of service. Well no one ever asked me to do so while I was in the office and then when I called to tell them about this they blame it on me. I was definitely able to pay but if you don't get asked to pay how are you supposed to know to pay. Also no way to pay bill online. Hard to reach staff during business hours. Asking people to pay an extra $25 is completely unethical behavior, in my opinion. Have to pay for parking at Sandy Springs location. Can only see the same doctor. Takes a long time to get an appointment, 3 months even as a returning patient. I will NEVER be returning here and do not recommend this practice to anyone.

I wanted to be able to say positive things about this medical group but after 2 years of using this group, I just can't think of anything positive to say. The final straw came today when I called to double check the time of my physical since I had not received the usual e-mail reminding me of the time. In August, I had to reschedule my appointment and the earliest time available was for October. I put that appointment on my calendar but apparently the person in appointments did not put it in the computer. The receptionist was able to look in the computer and tell me that she was the one cancelled it. I asked why she did not put me down on the schedule for the October appointment and she said she makes appointments all day and never makes mistakes. The next available appointment for a physical was not until December. She said she would e-mail the doctor to see if she could fit me in on the date I "supposedly" had an appointment and I would get a return phone call. I did get a return call by she sent the e-mail to the wrong doctor. I received a phone call telling me Dr. Winder would be available but she is not my doctor.. Dr. Pepper is my primary care physician. She has a good reputation within the medical community but I never felt that connection that made me feel that she truly cares about her patients.

Three consecutive yearly physicals and I requested skipping the EKG and CXR this last visit since all previous such tests(including the last two years)were normal, I have no symptoms, and my insurance no longer pays for these at yearly exams. My doctor was visibly upset at the suggestion of questioning his order. Two months after this last physical my orthopedist recommended surgery requiring a medical clearance letter. Now this doctor refuses to provide me a clearance for surgery and the practice policy is I cannot change doctors in this practice. CATCH 22-BEWARE!

I guess just the unhappy people take the time to write reviews. I have been a patient of Dr Mellits for 15 years. From the beginning he has been great. The last few years I have only seen him for regular checkups but he remembers all of the details of my history and always takes time to listen. The staff always call back in a timely manner with test results. I use the online service for refills etc. I have never had to deal with them in an emergency situation. In those cases I go to the local "doc in the box" or the the hospital emergency room.

Employees equal kleenex to Laureate: i.e. use the kleenex then throw the kleenex on the ground. Katrin King, Laureate office manager, scheduled an interview with job applicant. The prospective employee was all dressed up and parking in the parking lot when Katrin King called to cancel the interview, 10 minutes before the interview. Rude and inconsiderate are two words to describe the Katrin King and Laureate medical group.

This is one of the worst doctor's practices I have ever been to. The nurse had such an attitude, they never even took my temprature or blood pressure when I am pregnant and came in with the flu. The PA just wanted to give me med's without properly examining me. Dr. Friedman just walked it, didn't even introduce himself, and didn't even examine me and started telling me a list of medicines to take. He didn't even care that I was pregnant. I asked if he was going to take blood tests to ensure it isn't bacterial and all my levels are ok, especially because I am pregnant. Nope! He was a joke of a doctor. I would NEVER recommend this place to my worse enemy.

I called to set up new patient information and was passed around and put on hold for 20 minutes. I really dont like being put on hold, especially when I might be one of their patients.. .."goodbye". ..... .... to Laureate

I have been a patient of Dr. Wender's for several years. She is great, however she has an awful medical assistant that leaves me with an awful bruise every time she draws my blood. She is unfriendly and not knowledgeable at all. She does not even know how to pronounce simple/common medication names. I had the pleasure of seeing one of the N.P.'s in the midtown office and she was great. She gave me a recommendation of another provider in the group, so when I called to schedule an appointment, I was sent to the Office Managers' voicemail. (Because I wanted to change providers within the same practice?) This does not make any sense! I have managed medical practices my entire career. Now they won't let me schedule an appointment. I am requesting my records and going elsewhere. I am so disappointed in how this has been handled.

If people would follow simple directions and order, their office visit WOULD be more pleasant. Laureate is not a "walk in" clinic, but they DO accomodate emergencies. The process is to CALL, not walk in, leave a message if necessary and the phone nurse WILL call you back within a reasonable time frame to tell you what to do! Same thing with refills, call follow office procedures!!! People wants things to happen "right now" but to avoid chaos and mixed messages, confusion and complaints just follow office policy and order, you are not the only one sick, in need of a refill, requesting copies of something, needing an appt and/or whatever else!!! The nerve of some people!!!

Dr Bandakuala is smart and very warm. My husband sees Leaderman and he has great personal skills and is excellent medically. All the doctors we know go to this practice. The front office-receptionist on phone: not good. Annoying. But, worth it for highly competent and kind docs.

I have never even seen a Doctor here, but can not recommend them simply because their office staff are inefficient, rude and lazy. I called the day before, to cancel an appointment and was assured that it was cancelled. I asked for a confirmation # and was told that there wasn't one. Now I got a bill for $100 because I was a "no show". I have called numerous times to straighten this out with their billing office. Of course they have no record of my calls and refuse to spend time looking it up in their records. I will never recommend this practice to anyone, even tho it is very near my home and I do see other Dr's in the very same building.
