We've used LAH for years and have never been disappointed or received anything but excellent care ! They are very good for urgent visits and the vets are solid clinically and show their love for animals through caring ! Prices are good and they often give discounts when we bring more than one cat in at the same time. We highly recommend LAH !

After my vet of many years retired, I ended up at a VCA hospital, which was a nightmare. A good friend kept telling me that she loves Lavista but I was put off by the bad reviews here. Finally having had enough, I gave them a try. Yeah, I cringed when I went in and saw the young vet, Dr. Clint Walton, because the the young vet at the other place didn't know anything, never had answers, so kept recommending more expensive, invasive tests. Was amazed and delighted when Dr. Walton took one look at my dog and was able to tell me what was going on. Not good news but at least I knew and could get medications to keep him comfortable. Wasted 6 weeks with a dog in pain while the VCA docs dithered over what it was and wanted $300 for yet another test. Had an emergency visit at Lavista with my other dog this morning (2 old dogs have lots of problems...) and same thing. He quickly knew exactly what was going on and how to treat it. And he is patient and listens and has answers as I ramble on about my dogs' health problems. Prices are excellent, especially compared to the VCA hospital. Office visits are cheaper and the drugs are dramatically less. Got one drug from Lavista for $40 something dollars for a month when VCA was charging me $35 for a week's worth. I realize that it's only been 2 visits so take this with a grain of salt but I'm kicking myself that I didn't move to Lavista sooner, wasted a lot of money and missed a lot of the decent care needed for my "kids."

Just started using LaVista Animal Hospital for my 2 dogs. I live in the neighborhood so the clinic is very convenient. I've been very happy with my first few visits and Dr. Dulaney has been outstanding, especially when I had an emergency visit for one of my dogs. The front desk staff could be a little more friendly, but overall I'm very happy.

I have taken pets to the LaVista Animal Hospital and Dr. Walton for 23 years. Never had a problem. This covers 5 pets, both dogs and cats. They have always been friendly and compassionate.

This is a wonderful place for your pets. There are some really ugly comments that offend me, those are the people who are probably hard to please, where ever they go. I've been a client for over 10 years. There is some staff turnover which can be expected at times but some of the staff has been there the entire time I've been going, very friendly, efficent, Dr. explain diagnosis well, and the sweetest front desk staff ever- which seems to be the hardest thing to find these days!

I have used Lavista Vets since I moved to Atlanta in 2000. I have been very impressed with the cleanliness of the hospital and the care given by Dr. Walton. I had one pet who was very ill and Dr. Walton did not hesitate to refer me to a specialist. He is willling to call me for questions and has treated my pets with compassiona and concern. The front staff is not always at the top of their "game" and the wait is too long even with an appointment, but I still use them because I believe they serve my pet's best interests.

I am writing this in hopes that others will not go through the pain that I did. I had a wonderful cat for thirteen years. She was my only pet. She was diagnosed by L.A.H. doctors as having a urinary tract infection and had to take antibiotics. I was leaving for a business trip to be gone three days and the vet suggested I board her while I was gone so they could administer her medicine. I called each day to check on her. When I called the last day, they informed me that she had died. When I asked what happened, I was informed that the doctor on call that particular morning had done an autopsy on her without my permission, making it impossible in my mind to see her to tell her "goodbye." They did not have my permission to cut her open. She did not have a urinary tract infection. She had stomach cancer and despite xrays taken by L.A.H., she was mis-diagnosed. I have filed a complaint with the state of Georgia and I am waiting the outcome. The autopsy served no purpose at that point and could have waited until I saw her and until I was given the option for an autopsy. I would highly recommend using another vet in the area if you can.

i used to be an employee there and the saying "what you don't know wont hurt" is sadly true here. Honestly the more commercial clinics will provide a better more accurate service than this place. I have seen things that i can't mention here but i do not recommend this place to anyone unless all you need is an ear cleaning.

I originally wrote a fairly negative review based on my experience of excessive time waiting for my appointment without being notified by staff of the nature of the delay. However, soon after my last experience, both the veterinarian and office manager called me and were very empathetic and forthright in their apologies. I felt like I was valued and came away with a renewed sense of trust and loyalty in this organization. Other businesses would do well to learn how to respond to customer concerns in such a professional manner.

I have been taking my cat to Lavista Animal Hospital for several years since they are just around the corner from me. I have always been very satisfied with the care that my cat gets - particularly the teeth cleaning. They are busy, though, and I usually have to wait to be seen or to pick him up after a cleaning. It's worth it though for the great care that he gets there.

I have spent the last 11 months taking my dog from one vet to another, spending over $5000 and even calling a long distance healer to try to help my dog. Inaccurate diagnosis and inappropriate treatment protocols lead me to over 9 different Atlanta Vets. Dr. Walton is a Godsend and has saved my dog's life. He spent plenty of time talking to me and explaining exactly what was happening, what should have been done and what he recomended. Test results were quick and less costly than I had paid at previous locations. My dog is now improving and is starting to act like his old self. If you need a vet who knows how to do something other than vaccinate, this is the place to come. Dr Walton will look you in the eye and spend the time to actually care for your animal rather than run them through the vaccine and steroid mill so prevalent elsewhere.

I started going to this vet a few years ago and loved Dr. Orton. He was so patient and gave you the time you deserved. After he left, we have been very displeased. Very long wait times and then they spend all of 10 minutes with you and charge you for a full office visit. And the vet told me she could not cut my dogs nails, that they were not long enough, when they were too long and I was able to cut them that afternoon. Incompetent, rather expensive, and a huge wait! What a combo.

If LAH wasn't just down the road from my house I'd probably have found another vet by now. In the past I've experienced very long waits even after making an appt. The staff was also very unfriendly and at times unprofessional. However my last visit was much better: minimal wait and it seems they've replaced the disgruntled receptionist(s). Also a part time vet Dr. Kimball/Kendall is very good - hope she comes aboard full time.
