HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, 8/23/2009

I needed to have my contacts refilled. My prescription stated that I needed to order "Acuvue dailies-moist." The Acuvue Dailies are a great lens, but much more expensive than the Acuvue 2, which in... my opinion, is just as comfortable. I went to Costco to refill my prescription, and they informed me that I needed to have Lenscrafters change the prescription to say Acuvue 2. I called Lenscrafters and they absolutely refused, telling me I'd have to pay for another appointment in order for them to change it on my prescription!! It's only been four months since my exam, and I've worn Acuvue 2 for 8 years!!!! That makes absolutely no sense, except that they want to collect their ridiculous exam fee a second time!!! Not to mention the office staff is incredibly rude and unprofessional! Do yourself a favor and stay far away from Lenscrafters. I wish I'd checked out their KUDZU profile first!!!

Disorganized and Rude, 8/12/2009

I went to Lenscrafters for new contacts after my former eye doctor cut his hours to 2 days a week. My initial visit was great. They got me within 2-3 days, and confirmed my visit both by email and... phone. I had the eye exam and went home w/trial lenses, and had a follow-up visit for a week later. The day before the follow-up, they called to say the doctor wouldn't be in that day. The days & times that WERE available that week were all in the middle of the day--which meant I'd have to take an entire day off. So we decided I'd come the next week. In the meantime, one of my lenses tore; I called and was told to just come pick another up. I went to pick the replacement lens up the next day...not only did they not have it, they were very abrupt w/me.BUT--they did say my new lens would be in when I came for the follow-up. Lo & behold, I went in for the follow up, was in the exam room, and they came in and said "The doctor doesn't want to see you...(!!) b/c you haven't been wearing both lenses." Not "We're sorry we didn't realize this!" -or- "We should have re-scheduled your appointment..." I told them I thought the way it was handled was very unprofessional, and at the very least, they could have given me a call. I advise anyone to stay away from Lenscrafters; the staff, including the doctors, seem to have no organization and no idea how to deal effectively with customers.

Beware!!!

My son was in need of an eye exam per his Dr. The exam part was fine, but when it came to purchasing a pair of glasses, it was not. They were trying to tell me that $370.00 was an average price, and was on the "low end" according to their employee. While they were being made, I went across the street to Costco and purchased a better pair for $65.00 out the door. This pair was better for a 12 year old being that the frames were flexible. Lenscrafters 50% is useless with the inflated prices, and if you use an insurance plan. I chose to not use insurance, and came out $80.00 in my favor at Costco.................
