I had a savings account with LGE Credit Union until today when I closed it. I received my statement for the 4th quarter of 2015 and saw a $5.00 deduction for "inactivity use" so I thought well, I will close it before the end of the 1st quarter 2016 so that I want be charged another $5.00. Today, being March 31, 2016, I went to close the account and they had deducted an additional $10.00 from my account, upon questioning it I learned that they deduct $5.00 per month of inactivity after a year, not quarterly. I feel certain this information must have been disclosed to me when I opened the account in some of the fine print of the pamphlet that I received or it could not be legal, but honestly I do not recall ever seeing such information in the pamphlet. All I can say is shame on me. I just never would have imagined such a thing, not only were they making interest off my money and paying me a paltry amount, but they charge an inactivity fee on top of this. I have had an account with Associated Credit Union for 24 yrs and never experienced such a thing.
