(TLDR: Late, Overpriced, Flooded Kitchen via fundamental error, disappeared halfway through job, management unresponsive and crooked) This was the worst experience I have had, to date, with contracting professionals. (1) Employee was late to appointment. Not a great start, but hey - things happen. (2) Arrived on site and immediately raised quote by 50% (with no new information). Sometimes people make accounting errors - this isn't that unheard of. Still above market price, I found out later, but these things happen. (3) The dealbreaker: He opened the straight drain pipe (removed my seal and bucket I had placed to prevent a problem) and went to Home Depot. I returned to kitchen to find it flooding from backflow (I live in a condo). This is negligence beyond comprehension. Brand new hardwoods in kitchen now probably need to be replaced. (4) When Lino found out his employee had caused damage (I informed him very politely, in the context of asking him what I should do to best stop the flow), he started dodging my calls, and his employee never came back. Conclusion: While the employee was very polite and seemed knowledgeable while he was here, he made a plumbing error so basic, even I wouldn't have made it, and I know almost nothing about this stuff. Management is crooked, guilty of bait-and-switch and dropping responsibility. Still left job half-done. Not someone I'd trust with my work or home under any circumstances. You've been warned.
Guy raised price after he got there, and when he was done, charged me even MORE for "extra time". He spent at least 20 minutes smoking! Left ashes in my candles. Nice. Work was fine, but I felt uncomfortable and think I could have gotten it done cheaper had I not been pressured.
Plumber seemed professional and nice, but when he left, my wife discovered he somehow managed to crack our new counters. I don't even know how he managed that! O_o Called the main line, was given the runaround, then they stopped responding altogether. Filing suit against the company now for damages. Oh - and after all that, the faucet he installed leaks. *facepalm* I am full of regret.
