Little Hickory Pediatrics, Tim Lorenz MD

We just got back from our first appointment with Dr. Lorenz. He was very thorough, allowed for lots of time for questions/answers, and suggested things to watch for and try with our 15-month-old son. The nurses were equally great. They were friendly and fast without the rushed feeling. In fact, when it came time for his immunizations, two nurses each did one shot at the same time to reduce the time spent holding our son still (which he hates). I thought that was GREAT!

Equally great was the overall cleanliness of the place. Having come from North Cobb Pediatrics, I was really impressed. I didn't feel like we needed to go home and take germ-x baths afterward!

The only thing I didn't like is that there is no separate sick and well waiting area. However, a new building is slotted to be completed in late summer which will have the separate rooms so I can live with this.

All in all, this is the first time I've ever left a doctor's office with not only a good impression of the building and staff but have actually felt comfortable in stating that this is "our doctor."

Now if it just stays that way. =)

We switched to Dr. Lorenz about a yr ago and absolutely love him and the whole office staff. He spends as much time as needed and never rushes you. Also, they don't overbook appts so you hardly ever wait - and you don't have to wait around snotty sick kids b/c they don't overbook appts. He answers all after hrs calls - he is a real doctor - and we love this office!!

I'm a crank, but cannot ignore the ignorant rantings of a dubious posting of Concerned and LoveMyKids, on the same day, same score but both with a different name? This Lorenz fellow is a fine doctor, and nobody deserves the nonsense that kind of Rantings. Kudzu Please.

The so called Concerned and Lover are not likely from around these parts, where our mothers taught us better. Not too brave to rant away in such an ignorant tone, and anon. too, and then act like you are two people. Ethical? As Gomer Pyle would say, "Shame, Shame, Shame!"
Lorenz deserves better so he gets the best end of the deal - you are gone on to haunt another poor doctor. Whoever you are you should come with the Surgeon's General's warning "Smoking and Bad for your Health."

I recommend Dr. Lorenz to all of my friends! Dr. Lorenz has been our pediatrician for almost three years, (since we relocated from Colorado) and we LOVE him! I have five children, ages 16 to 2 and Dr. Lorenz has always been caring and compassionate with each and every one of them. Anytime you call after hours you do not get a recording, you get Dr. Lorenz and he calls to follow up after emergencies! I have never had a problem in speaking with Dr. Lorenz during or after business hours and his staffs are the sweetest girls. They know all of my children by name and have always been polite, kindhearted, and very knowledgeable. Dr. Lorenz is very informative and listens to all of your concerns. He even respected my wishes to spread out our baby girl’s immunizations because of my personal beliefs and concerns. Never once did Dr. Lorenz treat me disrespectfully. He listened and said it was doable but that I would have to pay for the additional office visits. This is what I expected after taking the same action with my other children in Colorado. My children trust him and the staff and that is very important to me. I only want the best care for my kids. It’s not a “big box” doctor’s office; it’s a quaint and personal office that allows Dr. Lorenz and his staff to get to know you and your children.

I have been very happy so far with Little Hickory and Dr. Lorenz. We came to Little Hickory from one of those mega factory offices where we were always rushed in and out as a number. There is a totally different feel at Little Hickory. It's small and cozy. Dr. Lorenz is nice and patient. I've never felt rushed there and he always listens and explains things to you. Our last doctor seemed liked she was running a race and couldn't leave the room fast enough. Little Hickory is the complete opposite. I'd highly recommened Dr. Lorenz.
