Lotus of Life Chiropractic

My experience at Lotus of Life was not as positive as the others. I went in because of pain I experience due to spinal stenosis. From the beginning I was advised that I could expect some pain relief within the first two weeks of adjustments (6 adjustments - 3/week). So pain relief was to be my measuring stick for success and would help me to decide whether to pursue this effort to term. After the 6 adjustments and no relief, I decided to give it more of a chance by going an additional week + (4 more adjustments). Although I was told that clinically (the chiropractor's observations) I was making good progress, pain was the only thing I had to go on, and I still had all of it. So, having not made any progress from my point of view, I decided I couldn't afford the additional months of treatment that were recommended for me.

By the way, the staff and doctors at Lotus are very nice, but they seem to specialize in treatment of pregnant mothers, their babies, and children, so if child related noise (crying, etc.) and kid activity in the adjustment room bother you, you may want to consider that. Also, some may be surprised (I was) to find that a doctor may adjust up to 3 patients at a time, all in the same room. However, none of that would have been an issue for me had I gotten the results I was seeking, I just didn't.

Dr. Liliana has been so helpful to me during my current pregnancy. I feel a million times better, and have confidence that I will continue feeling great until the delivery and beyond. My 3 year old daughter also loves going to the office -- it's a very child-friendly place.

When my daughter started walking at 11 months, she walked with her hip poking out to one side. When she mentioned it to her pediatrician, she said she had never seen something like this and referred us to an orthopedic surgeon, saying surgery was "likely". That night, I couldn't sleep thinking of my baby in surgery under anesthesia. I remembered passing "Lotus of Life" many times in downtown Decatur and thought I would give them a call. Dr. Jamie spent 30 minutes with me on the phone, saying that my daughter's condition often happens when children first begin walking, and chiropractic care could help. We went in, and today her hip is totally fine! We saw a difference after her first few visits! No surgery was ever needed.

She is almost 3 now and we still go because i know it helps keep her healthy. The doctors LOVE children and are very good with them--my daughter enjoys going. And we have seen a tremendous difference a visit makes when she is sick.

The office is clean and professional, with space for children to play and a great lending library.

Dr. Jamie and Dr. Lilianna are truly passionate about chiropractic care and want nothing less for their clients than perfect health.

And it is great for pregnant women as well! Both doctors are knowledgeable about optimal baby positioning for birth and relieving any pregnancy related discomforts

When I first saw Jamie and Lil, I was impressed with how they approached the entire life of their patients – taking a holistic approach that transcended what had been “typical” chiropractic for me – at least in the way the chiropractors relayed what they were doing and why. Before my first session was over, I knew this was very different than anything I’d ever had done before, despite being to Chiropractors over a 15 year span. Still, different isn’t always good. This time it is – the results have been amazing. In the 6 weeks I’ve been with Lotus of Life, I’ve seen a huge improvement in my overall outlook on life. My diet has changed (seemingly on its own) – my weight has dropped – and I feel sharper mentally and more capable physically. I am reaping the benefits of a cleared up nervous system and more integrated health palette. Thanks friends!

Liliana and Jamie were so different from the start of my treatment. They approached my back and neck issues from the whole body / life perspective. I knew that a huge increase in stress was driving the majority of my pain, but that years as a hair dresser and years of popping anything that would had only reinforced my stress areas. I also have a knee injury from an incompetent personal trainer that six months of physical therapy didn't touch. Liliana found the cause for the weak knee on my first visit - something no one had ever discovered. Both she and Jamie make sure they are gentle if my body is under extra stress, they encourage healthier behaviour - I have given up energy drinks and cut back on caffeine. My schedule is always changing, and they are very accomodating - their hours suit anyone's needs!! I love going in, not only does my back and neck feel 100% better, I always leave with a smile! This form of chiropractic is not the old back-crushing moves your mom was used to - it's new - whole body and mind focused! There are no electrodes or painful moves by your doctor.
