No help and unprofessional, 9/10/2012

I went in to find a globe for a ceiling fan. The person in the lighting department was new and couldnt help me. Then they gave me short answers and seemed upset that I wanted to find an exact... replacement. Then when I was on the way out the cashier started complaining to her other cashier about how bad this store is and how long the employee meetings last, and bla bla bla. I like Lowes but this was a nightmare.

Poor customer service, 11/20/2007

I have used this Lowe's location many time over the last several years. In the past, I was pleased with their customer service. However, I can never get any help anymore. I went in recently to look... at retaining wall supplies and was going to order several thousand dollars worth of stone. I could not find an associate to help me. One lady who worked in the garden department, kept ignoring me and was not friendly at all. I had to get a manager from that department to help me. He was very nice and apologized several time for poor quality service. I then headed to doors and windows department where I was looking to order windows and a french door for my new sunroom. The sales associate there (Jeff) was extremely rude and kept answering my questions with one word answers. He did not bother to show me any products. I really don't think I was asking stupid questions; I just needed some basic info on their products (size, materials they are made out of...). 2 men walked up after me and the same sales person was very happy to help them. What gives? I finally told him that he was dismissive and disrespectful, not to mention he did not like helping women. I also talked to the store manager who apologized several times. Why do they always apologize after providing bad service? Why not try to provide good service from the beginning so they don't have to apologize to disatisfied customers? In the end they lost $4000-5000 sale that day. What's happening with their customer service?
