I went with a friend recently. Mac McGee's is on the Decatur Square and has that vibe of the type of place where the "real" drinkers hang out. That was at least the case the night I was there. Still it was pleasant - the type of place that plays Van Morrison records and was low-lit. A nice relaxing place. I had the burger and it was well prepared and tasty. No problems... this place is a good alternative to the Marlay House or the Brick Store when they are overcrowded...

This is a great pub. I hope it becomes a fixture of Decatur center. The food is much better than what you'd expect. The beers on draft are of a high quality, and served in true pint glasses. They even have a large number of Whiskeys available. The service is friendly and prompt. I can't wait to go back with more of my friends!

There's now officially no question about it. With the addition of Mac's and it's bright red door, Decatur is now one of America's very best pub crawl spots ... and maybe the absolute best outside of Boston. The pub is cozy, friendly, and welcoming; you'd think it had been there for decades rather than a month or two. The food exceeds my (very high) expectations, and the drink list is amazing. Mac's now joins my beloved Brick Store and Grange as my "holy trinity" of oubs. Like the Grange, it's a pretty good place to write, too. Highly recommended.
