Free estimate was great and accurate. He cleared up ALL debris left behind by removal of two trees. His team even cleanup up debris that his team didn't make! Took the extra time to be sure not to damage any of the surroundings and structures. Would use again!

This review is a long time overdue. This summer (2008) Geoffrey and company turned my backyard from a nightmare into a place my kids love to play in everyday. This was a pretty big job at $5K+ but Geoffrey's estimate was still below 2 of the other 3 estimates I received. He did a wonderful job, i wish i had taken before and after pictures for you but alas i never did. This job required removal of brick structures, clearing weeds as tall as your knees, complete redo of the irrigation system, tree removal, rock, grass and concrete curbing installation and electronic timer. Super job on all accounts. I was so impressed that I now use him for monthly maintenance. If you're looking for a big or small landscaping job, i recommend you talk to Geoffrey and crew. I have used mutiple landscapers in the valley. MacKenzie Tree and Landscape has been the most consistant and easiest to work with. They have redesigned and maintained my landscape for over 5 months and I have nothing bad to say. They show up and do quality work. They will call with status updates and just to see if I am happy with their service. They always return my calls (if by some chance they did not answer the call to start with). They are priced very competitively and very knowlegdgable. I always recommend them to friends and neighbors.

I would like to take a moment to commend Mr. Geoff MacKenzie Owner/Operator of MacKenzie Tree & Landscape Co. for helping us out after a devastating microburst blew down our fifty foot Mesquite tree that had managed to whether the storms over the last 15 years. The tree fell down into our pool area mutilating the wrought iron fence, damaging our Jacuzzi and the outlining cool decking. We contacted MacKenzie Tree & Landscape on kudzu.com the following morning. Geoff came to our rescue in a few hours and expediently and professionally gave us a very fair quote, we accepted, and his team sprung into action. Within hours they had the tree dissected and neatly removed from our pool area so work could begin in that area simultaneously. One of the things that struck me was his business ethics. He could have gouged us in a situation like this where demand is higher than supply, but he did not. Even though his phone was ringing off the hook with other customers in a similar situation, he made us feel as if we were number one. That is a rare quality. We are fortunate to have found Geoff MacKenzie and will continue to utilize his services through time.

Geoff was referred to us by a neighbor. After a few days of messages we had an appointment - unfortunately we were double-booked, he was late due to traffic, and after a long day Geoff decided that he just couldn't make it and he called to cancel on his way home. OK fine - so let's try for a Saturday. After waiting for a call or a show, we made plans. Then he called. So now how about Sunday? Geoff says, "You are my only appointment on Sunday". We commit to 10a on a Sunday. 10a comes around - no call, no show. 11a, 12p, 12:30p - you get the picture. If you don't want my business, if you have to reschedule - JUST TELL THE PROSPECT. Don't waste our time. Don't make excuses about being busy (folks, who isn't busy?!?) - in the amount of time that it took you to respond I found competent contractors for both cleanup and for professional landscaping. So now everyone I know plus you good folks on the Internet can read about how Geoff MacKenzie dogged us not once, not twice but THREE times.

POTENTIAL CUSOMERS, PLEASE READ: Gilbert_Al, we had scheduled an appointment for Thursday between 4:30 and 5:00 PM. I thought I would be running later than expected so I called you to let you know it would be more like 5:30-6pm. Your response: no problem. I call you just before 6pm to let you know I am there. You tell me that you have another landscaper there(who was supposed to show up @ 4PM but WAS RUNNING LATE) and you would be finished up in a few minutes and to hang on. I then WAIT in my truck for 30 minutes, yes THIRTY MINUTES, burning diesel fuel @ $4.25 a gallon until finally @ 6:30 I call you and you tell me that the other guy is still there and that you are "just finishing up". I'm sorry Al but, I work from 4:30AM till sometimes as late as 6:30-7PM and I cannot just sit on the side of the road while you take your sweet time with some other contractor, especially during the time that WE HAD AN APPOINTMENT for. So, we re-schedule for Saturday afternoon. I tell him, like I tell EVERYONE that I will call a few hours in advance to dial in a specific 1 hr window of time in which I will be there. I do this as a courtesy so he does not have to wait around for me all day. His was an afternoon appt so I told him that I would call shortly before noon. Well, according to my phone records, I called him @ 11:21am, (I think that is shortly before noon, last I checked.) to schedule for between 3-4PM. He not-so-politely informs me that he is about to leave for the afternoon and cannot make it at all today. I'm thinking to myself "didn't we have a tentative appt for the afternoon or am I going crazy?" Sure enough my notes indicate exactly what I have written here, A PM appt with Gilbert_Al. Still wanting to meet with him, I suggest a Sunday appointment. His nasty temperament, the fact that he already had 3-5 other bids and his response of "I'll be home IF YOU WANT to stop by" made me feel that I had already invested enough of my time and money in his project and to cut my losses short and spend some quality time with my family. So in reality, readers of this post need to ask themselves, who dogged who in this case? I called him no fewer than 8 times in a 2 day period, waited on the side of the road for him, turned a 10 hour day into a 12 hour day for him and he has the nerve to say I DOGGED HIM??? Thanks for the horrible review Alan, you make the reviews of my actual work look even better.
After getting a few estimates we decided to go with Geoff because of the value and the personal service. Geoff's crew did a great job. He was really easy to work with and always kept us updated on the progress of the project to make sure we were always happy. We even were able to use Chris to suggest which plants would create the feel we were looking for. The quality of the work was above my expectations and I would definitely use them again! Thanks Geoff/Chris

Over a four week period and approx.five phone calls later, MacKenzie Tree and Landscape never showed up. I called Geoff numerous times and he confirmed the details of the job he was planning on doing. He was courteous but never fulfilled the task we agreed upon. The last time I spoke to him he said "I'm sorry about the delays, we will be out at the end of this week and I will call you after the job is done."

Geoff turned our backyard from unfriendly desert landscaping into a safe play paradise for our children. He and his team were efficient and professional, and provided all services in a timely manner. After trying to get several companies to give us reasonable estimates or even just to return our calls, it was a pleasure to work with them. We have already highly recommended MacKenzie Landscaping to our friends!

Geoff was unable to help us on a quick turnaround job, but when his schedule opened up he called me to see if we still needed help, now that's service! Now we are on a regular maintenance schedule. Thanks for the good work! Toni

The crew has done a great job in making our yard look clean and manicured. We were in rental, and the property owners are very happy with the service. Geoff came out and gave us a great quote and devised a schedule suitable for our yard. We have since relocated and are looking forward to having them come out and help with the trees at our new house.

I am sorry that we never connected. In reality, I'm not sure who you are. I looked at the reviews you gave another landscaping company and they were the same as mine. I'm not sure that I believe you that I made two appointments with you that I no-called, no-showed. That is very unlike me. If I cannot make an appointment, I will be sure to call you with plenty of time to make arrangements otherwise. It is very true that I am busy as can be but I would never leave someone hanging like that. I have had enough people do that to me to know what it feels like. In any case, I am sorry that you feel like you were not treated well.
Geoff contacted me right away when I emailed and came out that day to do an estimate. Although I had to initiate the follow up with him a few weeks later, his team completed the work in the timeframe we discussed and did a good job. When there were a few touch ups needed, he came himself the next day and made sure they were taken care of. I would highly recommend Geoff and his team to anyone and plan to use his company in the future.
