Mama Gums

Finding Mama Gums is truly like finding a treasure! Just when I thought that periodontal surgery was the only option, I scheduled a consultation with Sheila. I got to see the bacteria compromising my dental health and my overall health as well; I was educated by Sheila all about gum disease, and coached in great detail about how to clean and disinfect the mouth. But most importantly, Sheila gave me hope that oral health can be restored by having the right tools and the knowledge of how to use them. I am so grateful to her for her patience and her genuine caring; and her willingness to share her expertise in a manner that holds promise of positive results because practical solutions are provided. Actually seeing the bacteria in my mouth under the microscope was an amazing experience. I now understand the importance of a good daily oral hygiene routine.

Thank you Sheila for your instruction and inspiration. I can avoid future gum problems and the expense of any more major dental procedures. I am confident I can do the simple things you taught me to keep my teeth for the rest of my life, and benefit from the effects good oral health will have on the rest of my body.

I am enormously grateful to Mama Gums. Her response to my cry for help was immediate and compassionate, when I found myself in the midst of a dental health crisis. I found her by searching the internet for alternative treatments to periodontal disease, for which surgery had been recommended to me. Feeling lost and bewildered, not knowing where to turn, I called the number I found on her website and left a message. She replied the next morning, encouraging me to speak to her about my problem. The utmost respect and care she gave to me in my several consultations with her was outstanding. Her knowledge and experience is groundbreaking, and her expertise was invaluable (ending in helping me to avoid surgery). It was invariably imparted in her most kind, thoughtful, understanding and nonetheless professional manner ~ all of which enabled and encouraged me to pursue my path back to dental health with knowledge and dignity.

Sheila is passionate about her mission: teaching people how to keep their teeth for a lifetime and improve their overall health. Her books and website explain a simple, inexpensive non-surgical approach to oral health. She helped me avoid oral surgery, which two periodontists insisted was my only alternative. More than two years (and no surgery) later, my gums and teeth are healthy and I should be able to keep them that way thanks to Sheila.
