Mambo Italiano

I am a vegiterian not by choice but for health resons. I Deathly sick all night.Told the manager and he did not charge me for what I ate little of and got sick . Past that no compasion. If you have a serious food issue do not go there. Hope they close before they hurt someone worse than I.

I would've rated this place with at least four stars once upon a time but no more. My family and I visited the Norcross location the other evening and did not have a pleasant experience. First, it seems the morale of the employees overall was poor, which may explain why our service also was. Second, our daughter's food came out much sooner than the other entrees--something that we could've easily overlooked. Third, the waiter paid more attention to the game on the television that was there than to his customers. He never asked how everything was and didn't even refill a single drink, until we were about to leave. Fourth, the food was mediocre at best. Fifth, considering the large oven constantly in use, the restaurant's A/C should've been on higher. Last, it amazes me that THREE employees would allow a customer (me) handling a toddler, while exiting from the restaurant, to hold the door for them without a single "thank you" uttered. Of course, this also means that not a single one offered to take the door from me either.

Mambo Italiano has the best pizza (outside Europe and NY)! The way they make their pizza is so authentic that I was just blown away! That's exactly what I had when I toured the Mediteranean. They use the best sausage, not just some ground up piece like a Pappa John or Pizza Hut pizza. The desserts are to die for!! There's the Million Dollar Cake, the Key Lime Pie, the Death By Chocolate; so many good ones it's hard to pick a favorite. If you've been to Mediteranean Europe and yearn to go back, come here and at least get a taste of that cuisine!

Slow slow slow. We were 20 minutes in by the time that they worked out some confusion over who our server was and got drinks to the table. Appetizer: I ordered the anti pasto misto and seared ahi tuna. The antipasto misto came out without the artichokes that were supposed to be on it. When we asked our server if there were supposed to be artichokes on that dish and his response was "I don't know. Are there?" So, product knowledge is not a factor of employment at this place. We picked up the menu and showed him what was supposed to be on it. The ahi tuna was bland at best. Although seared tuna is generally pretty rare this was pretty much raw as they apparently don't understand the concept of searing and the outside was only slightly browned.
It was hot and stuffy in the restaurant and I knew I wouldn't be eating a huge meal so I decided to order something I knew would reheat well and got the Stromboli. It wasn't memorable by any means but it wasn't bad. It was generous on cheese and the pepperoni and sausage had a decent flavor but as we also noticed with the anti pasto misto they do not care to peel the salami before they cut it so you are constantly either fishing out pieces of the casing from your food or from your mouth. My girlfriend ordered the Tuscan Filet Mignon. Complete disappointment. Full of silverskin and grissel. The server was almost non-existent and had we not been offered drinks when we first sat down we would not have had any at all. Horrible experience.
