The new girl had mashed the ice cream with the brownie into a wet dough, and so I brought it up to exchange it for just plain chocolate. It was gross. She asked for the first ice cream back, tossed it in the trash, and then rang me up for another $5 ice cream. I went to the register as my friend was paying for it, not sure why we were being charged for another cone. They refused to give me a refund for charging me for the second cone. When I called the manager, he told me that they had to throw the first cone away because of a "hygiene issue". Had I known I was going to be stuck paying for it, I would never have let her throw it away (or I would have cut my losses and not ordered a second cone). While trying to explain this to the manager, he hung up on me. I called back, and he called me a liar for saying it was a ten dollar ice cream cone. I tried to explain to him that I was charged twice, and called back to tell him that, but he hung up on me again. I really got the feeling that he was going on whatever story this girl was telling him because he wouldn't let me get a word in edgewise on the phone, just arguing over me as I tried to explain what had happened. He said the best he could do was to give me a $1 off coupon. When I called back the third time in an effort to at least be able to tell my side of the story, he said that I was obviously going to keep calling and that he would just give me a free cone the next time I was in there. I'm so insulted by that response.
