Dr Melanie is the best. Every appointment I feel cared about and she understands me. The call center is below average and doesn't let me make appointments without going through nurse practitioners on the phone which is not always helpful, but Dr Melanie's new nurse I spoke to last week was so friendly and funny and took care of me. I will continue to be a patient here.

What a horrible, horrible experience to go through during my first pregnancy. Dr. Watkins is not friendly at all and does not seem to care how her patients feel. I saw her twice during my first pregnancy (she left and went on maternity leave) and waited an hour and a half both times. Needless to say I was upset by the time she came into the room (I'm pregnant and hormonal so I was crying because I was so upset over the wait). First of all, she did not apologize for the wait. She told me that they are "so popular", that they have "so many patients that love them and don't mind waiting and that it's an OB office, so waiting that long is normal and should be expected. She then proceeded to say that if I didn't like it, then I should find somewhere else to go. As this is being said to me, I am already crying because of the wait, haven't said a word to her because if open my mouth, I know I will cry harder. When she said the statement about finding somewhere else to go (I'm 6 1/2 months pregnant) my jaw dropped to the floor and I just shrugged my shoulders because I did not know what to say. She was so immature after that, not asking any questions about how I felt and said "fine, let's just measure the baby then" (sarcastically). I know that if she easily spoke and treated me the way she did (on two different occasions) that she's done it to others.

Went to MG for my 3rd pregnancy. Was given appt with Dr. Watkins- apparently one of the "new kids on the block." Awesome doesn't even begin to describe her! While the other docs I met were kind and nice, Dr. Watkins brought that something "special" to the table and made you feel that your pregnancy was the most important in the world. Was so thrilled that she was there to deliver my baby girl. Now pregnant with #4, and looking forward to working with her again for the delivery and tubal after this last baby! Only minor complaint- office staff (clerical not nursing) sometimes a little aloof. Sometimes got frustrated when trying to get insurance/disability questions answered- maybe because I didn't understand it but it just seemed that at times they would lose their patience to those of us who don't deal with insurance issues everyday.

Dr. Watkins is/was the best! Her bedside manner is impeccable, caring and sincere. I would recommend her to any female needing OBGYN care! Their front desk/insurance people have issues in PR dept.! Jennifer Randall is the one to speak with there. She's dependable and has a heart for the business! My daughter has Dr. Watkins with this next baby....hope the front desk is better this time! I'm not concerned about the Dr.she' s gold ...keep you posted about the front desk!

I loved this office!! Most of the staff is beyond impeccable. The only con I have was the phone nurse is sometimes short and come off rude. I was always very happy with the wait time for appointments, they get you in and out very quickly, unlike most Dr.'s offices. Dr. Watkins is the best part about the practice. She is one of the kindest, caring, and most sincere Dr.'s I have ever met. If you are even considering an OB/GYN she is the Dr to choose!

This is my first pregnancy and I have an adopted son. I switched docs after talking with the nurse over the phone about an issue I was having. She treated me like a child and was just plain rude in asking and responding to questions about my symptoms. She demanded to know why I told her this was my first pregnancy after I mentioned my son. It took every ounce of patience I had to answer that my son is adopted. Then I waited 48 hours for 24 hour test results for what I considered a pretty major issue. I stuck with them long enough to get the prescription and called to find another doc immediately. I was disappointed and underwhelmed in the entire experience.

What a wonderful pre-natal and delivery experience! My friends recommended them highly. I was able to meet with all of the doctors during my visits and they are wonderful. I was shocked when I had read the last couple of reviews on this site because that is nothing I had experienced there at all. I know everybody is entitled to their own opinion but, all I can say is this doctor's office really deserves better recognition than that. They really do care. The doctors and nurses took their time to listen to everything I had to say and ask. The Medical Assistants were great. The front office reception area was nicely decorated and the front office staff greeted me courteously. Check out their web site because it is very informational and thorough.

Maternal generations, a group network affiliated with Gwinnett Medical Center. The Doctors seem so serious, strict and unfriendly. Dr. Andrew T. Doris has an ego problem; he's so arrogant, callous, and snobbish. He doesn't respect ones fear, opinions and concerns. He forgets so easily about his patients, he would always asked me to remind him about what we'd spoke about on the last visit, it was like he didn't know me at all; I have a daughter, he would refer to my daughter as "boy" or "him" and any time we would come to a disagreement on trivial matters he threatens not to provide me with care and just walk out or says he has some where to be in two minutes. The stuffs and about two doctors (Dr Wiits, Dr Hood and Dr Kim; males) are considered to have some human relationship.

I moved here with my husband in March of 2010. We found out we were pregnant so I found this facility online. Since we just moved here and didn't know anyone yet, I went with what was available. The office itself looked good. The first visit was with a nurse asking all of our information. That was fine. But then when we were going to meet the doctor for the first time, we waited 45 mins to even see her in the room! And it's our first baby and I don't expect everyone to be as excited as us but she seemed annoyed more then anything! Every visit is at least an hour wait in the room to even be acknowledged! The time management is a big fat 0! And the respect to the pregnant women is a big fat 0! Avoid them at all cost! I will never go there again!

I have been with Maternal Generations going on 17 years. I have seen most of the midwives and 4 of the doctors. I have watched this practice grow from 2 doctors (Hearin and Hood) and a midwife (Johnny) to the practice they are today. I have had 4 children with this practice and have recommended numerous friends and family and will keep recommending. They are knowledgeable and are very caring. Unfortunately, it seems that some people have had some bad experiences, but that can happen with any doctors office. Dont let them discourage you from giving this practice a try. Dr. Hearin is the best OB/GYN out there.

I went with my wife to the first first visit for ultasound, nurse and doctor visit. The nurse and doctor were understanding and took care of my wife in a professional manner. The ultrasound technician or nurse was horrible. She made my wife and me feel like second class citizen. My command of the enlish language is limited, but talked down to us as if we were freeloader on just bearing babies at the government's expense although we are hard working American citizens with private insurance. I told her to try to learn another language and see how she feels. We concluded that this office has some employees with some racial, social or political issue that thy carry on to their work.

These doctors and support staff care about your health. They now do in-house procedures like Essure and bone scans instead of going to the hospital. This has been very convenient for me. I recommend them highly!

Thank You for your review
I won't bore everyone with the details. The take-away is this: it was plainly evident that doctors Hood and Weiss of Maternal Gynerations care far more about their bottom line than they do about their patients. We switched midwives for our second child and the difference was night and day.

I waited 4 days while in pain to see Kristie for what the receptionist called a 'problem appt.', had to come back the next day for blood work because Kristie's nurse 'wasn't good at sticking', wait 3 days for the results, and then no call. So, I called them - no answer, left a message, no call back. So, I wait another day to see if I have cancer cells in my blood sample. If I was their sister, would they want her to wait another 24 hours to find out? I just don't think they care. Time to move on to another practice.
