Called this business to fix refrigerator. The owner said the problem is most likely compressor relay, which would cost $145 to fix. We asked if he was sure that was the only thing that could be wrong, and he told us quite rudely to trust him on this, repeatedly, without giving a direct answer to our question. He said he would take a look. Some time passed, and then he said he was done replacing the relay. (He did not ask for our agreement to do the repair). The refrigerator seemed to work, at least the clicking noise disappeared and it seemed to blow cold air in the freezer. So we paid him the $145. Yet later in the day we realized the freezer was not cooling down, and by next morning it was completely defrosted. The man came over, took a look and pronounced the compressor dead. This would be an expensive repair and we'd be better off buying a new fridge. He refused to refund us money for the work he did replacing the relay. So we ended up paying for a job that was not needed, in spite of expressing this concern to him several times, and without an explicit agreement to proceed with the work; and been lectured about not "trusting" him. We are quite upset, not only because of our money being wasted and our trust betrayed, but also because of the rude, unprofessional attitude.
