We are a same-sex couple. I'd always been a fan of McEntyres' "Puffy Cups" cupcakes, so when I got married I convinced my partner to have McEntyres for our reception. We went in and told them we were having a wedding reception, and the guy behind the counter hand-wrote prices for various flavors on scratch paper and handed it to us. When I asked about the tiered stands for cupcakes that I'd seen on McEntyres' website, I was told to just go online and buy them myself. While we were there, a male-female couple came in and met in a private room with someone to discuss their wedding reception. Nobody offered to sit down with us and discuss our needs, and as we walked out the door I noticed they gave away free Bibles on a table by the door. I assume they didn't want our business because we are gay. Their puffy cups are delicious, but I'll never be buying there again. (We ended up going with another bakery, Cakes by Darcy in Roswell, and they were awesome.)

They don't know what a German chocolate cake is. Like Walmart and others, they cut corners and place german chocolate (coconut and nut) icing on a devils food cake. For such an upscale bakery its cheap. German Chocolate cake is time consuming to make and is made with German Chocolate - hench the name - not devils food. I was given one as gift and was horrified any bakery passed this off as the real thing and the kids won't eat it. Tried to return it (untouched) and they said that's the way they do it and its the persons fault that bought it. Didn't even offer to exchange it for another cake that was what it was claimed to be. Customer service and pride in putting out a true product that is what it is suppose to be seems lost to them.

The people there are very pleasant and helpful. On short notice I needed a wedding cake but had no clue what I wanted. They were very kind and helped me choose just the right cake. All my guests were amazed how delicious it was. They were saying “wedding cake is supposed to look good but never tastes that good”. All of my 40 guests were asking where I ordered it from. We had the Red Velvet Cake with cream cheese frosting. It was simply more than I could ask in a cake. Thank you McEntyres Bakery for making my wedding cake a center part of my reception. Love you guys!

The taste test was well-organized; they were helpful and very friendly. The price is one of the lowest in Atlanta, but quality was through the roof. Our wedding cake got rave reviews from the guests. We will definitely go back for future bakery needs.

I had a GREAT experience at this bakery. I placed an order for my meeting for mini-danish and donuts as "thank you" treats and they were prepared on time and ready to go at 7:30am the day of pick-up. I also called back to place an order for cake squares and they filled that order exactly as I'd specified. The danish got RAVE reviews. I didn't even get to taste one! I enjoyed the fresh flakiness of the one donut that I did get though. The service was great and so was the food. I highly recommend this spot!!

We ordered our son's first birthday cake and it exceeded our expectations. My wife wanted the right cake to go with our theme and they delivered. They also provided a smash cake for our son. You can not go wrong.

We used McEntyres in their old location and the new one. The new one is bright, convenient and big! This family run bakery continues to offer the best cakes - only now we can also get sandwiches and ice cream. Service continues to be outstanding and overly friendly. It is definitely the best bakery around!

My Mother has been buying from McEntyres as long as I can remember. When it came time to purchase my wedding cake I knew I wanted to include McEntyres on my list of candidates even though they weren't the closest bakery in my town. When I met with Sharon not only were the samples delicious the service was outstanding. Contrary to the "critics" below, we received the same family oriented yet professional service that I have always remembered, back to the days of Jonquil Plaza. Sharon not only helped us with exactly what we wanted she also went above and beyond to stay within our budget. She even suggested ways to save on costs. Thank you very much from a very satisfied bride to the entire McEntyres Bakery "family". ...If you want groceries go to Publix if you want the best bakery go to McEntyres!

I work at a nearby hospital and have to agree with the other reviewers. The quality is excellent, but the prices have risen so high and the service is getting worse. The "kids" as one mentioned are not the same as the ladies that used to wait on us a Jonquil. I live near Catersville and now I make my orders at Agans because they are cheaper and the quality is good. I am sorry that Mcentyres is not taking the complaints serious enough to change anything. Also, it is not that far to go to Henri's which one of my doctors suggested. And there is always Publix....

I have been to many bakerys and even spent a few years in culinary school and this is by far the best bakery ever. I come in all of the time in the morning and the two gentlemen that help me are just wonderful and always happy to see me. I order the same thing whenever I come in and they always serve it with a smile. Will be going there for many years to come.

My daughter's first birthday was Yesterday, but we celebrated it on Sunday. Of course we HAD to have a McEntyre's Cake. When I arrived on Saturday, my cakes were ready, and the nicest lady helped me. She pulled up the lids, and I saw what I believe to be the prettiest cakes I have ever seen. I told the lady I appreciated the bakery getting my cake ready on such short notice, as I had placed the order on Thursday, I also commented on how beautiful it was. She said they called in a special decorator that day. Whoever she was does great work, the writing is better than what McEntyre's usually does, and the decorations were more feminine and frilly. I have always seen great work come from McEntyre's, but this is beyond great! Thanks McEntyre's! My daughter had a wonderful birthday, and our guests enjoyed looking and tasting your cake.

You just can't find a better place to go for sweets of any kind! Their strawberry pound cakes, TV bars, caramel brownies, butter bites, Lemon bars, Lemon cakes, cheese straws are all just out of this world!! I could go on and on. It may take a few minutes in line to get everything that you want to get while you are there, but the time is worth it. They are one of so very few family owned and operated bakeries left today. You just can't find rolls and cakes like this in the grocery stores. It truely is a great place to get your goodies. They are always friendly and great at helping you pick out just what you are looking for. I recommend this to everyone with a sweet tooth!!
