If you like your pizza burnt black, then this is the place for you. MM Tucker's pizza oven is either set too high or its cooks don't know how to bake a pizza.
I like eating here.

It was a nice day and we wanted to sit on the patio. They completely forgot about us and I had to go physically pick up my sandwich from the line man in the kitchen. It had been sitting there forever. Then the manager made no apology and only gave us 50% off the entire tab...it was just strange.

The Tucker Mellow Mushroom was great, before they moved out to Northlake, then it all went downhill. The shiny new shop, seemed to give them the idea that they were too good for their customers. We would have put up with the cooler-than-thou-16-year-old hipster dufuses that worked at this location, had the quality of the pizza remained high, but that was not to be. One night, we ordered carryout, only to get it home and find that if was half-raw. I called the restaurant to tell someone about it, and the guy who answered the phone actually had the nerve to argue with me. He said that he saw my pizza before I picked it up, it was fine, and I didn't understand the texture of their crust, or some such malarkey. I informed him that I'd been eating Mellow Mushroom pizza for years, and I was perfectly aware of what half-cooked pizza looks like. He offered no apology, replacement, or refund, so we threw the pizza in our oven for another 10 minutes, and never darkened the door of this Mellow Mushroom again.

Three weeks ago we called and ordered a pizza from mellow mushroom, northlake. Previous dining experiences there had all be in restaurant and while not superb, at least decent. As told, arrived thirty minutes later and was told pizza would be ready in three minutes -- paid the tab and stepped back to wait. The next customer came in to pick up his two pizzas and they couldn't find. They searched top to bottom but had no order. He was not a happy camper, but he put in a new order. My three minutes passed and more customers came and got pizzas. I went up after ten minutes and was told my pizza had been mistakenly given away. it would be another thirty minutes to get a pizza. No offer of a refund, no "we're sorry". It was a lose/lose situation --waited, got pizza, went home and rushed dinner to make the evenings event. What a bummer. Biggest bummer to come was when I called manager and left a message. No call back. Called a week later. No call back. Called two weeks later. No call back. Bummer. Order errors I understand. Lousy service can happen. Managements refusal to monitor their stores is pathetic. A sure sign of losers.

I am a New York transplant, and while no pizza in ATL can compare to NYC, Mellow Mushroom is certainly a more than adequate substitute. The doughly crust sprinkled with Parmesan cheese makes the standard cheese and sauce a very tasty meal. You can also just opt for the crust and order a set of the pretzels. Those on a diet can also attend with a great selection of salads.
Since I work in Tucker, I know this place well. The pizza is delicious! Top'em any way you want. The murals on the walls are pretty cool and the people are friendly, but the pizza is the reason I go there. It's prepared quickly, so you can get back to work on time.
