We have gone to MerryMac for over 2 years and we love the training style (realistic, fair, fun) of Tina and the results. We have a 2-year old Lab and she is very well behaved. We often get comments about how well she listens and all of the things she can do (leave it, stay for long periods of time, etc) - and we attribute much of that to the training we went through at MerryMac. I highly recommend them!

I didn't realize how much fun it was going to be to train my dog until I went to Merrymac. Tina knows her stuff and is excellent at communicating and teaching. She and Paula are also very knowledgeable about Nutrition and taught me so much about the right kinds of food that I should be feeding my girl. Thank you so much for all of your help.

I highly recommend MerryMac and Tina McCain. The training is excellent. Take a "kindergarten" class if you are even thinking about maybe getting some professional training. You can see if it is a good fit. I find the advanced classes to be well worth the effort. The results are remarkable.

My Golden Retriever is a high energy dog who loves to meet and great people, i.e., jump. Tina taught me how to communicate with Cody so that we are on the same page for acceptable behavior. When it comes to behavior training, Tina is a master. In fact she is better than the "Dog Whisperer".

I was also recommended to Merrymac. I had no idea what a good dog trainer was supposed to be like until our horrible experience with this place. Since then I have done extensive research and found that most of this lady's techniques are damaging to insecure dogs. Her high pitch squealing voice is opposite of the proper way to teach dogs. Luckily I did find the proper trainer across town, thanks to the people at the Dog Whisperer. There are more people from my class who got nothing from the hundreds of dollars they gave for lessons. It appears they haven't complained on line. BEWARE unless you pay for individual sessions she does not care about your dogs issues and she will NOT give you your money back.

I'm very sorry that you did not receive what you were looking for from my Training methods. I would like to know what research you did to determine that "my technique is damaging to insecure dogs" as the feedback that I receive from my clients is always positive. If you would have talked with me about your experience, I would have been more than accommodating to your wishes. I don't understand why you felt a need to be so demeaning to me in your review when you didn't even give me an opportunity to address your issues in person. To say that I "do not care about my clients dogs" is totally false. I hope that people who read your review will also read the other 24 reviews posted on Kudzu that are all 5 stars and realize that you were obviously having a bad day when you wrote yours.
My fiancee and I attended the canine kindergarten this month. I wanted my fiancee and new dog to bond. It was a great class. Most people had puppies and even though we didn't, most of the info was still applicable to us. Tina is a very good trainer and very knowledgeable. All of her methods and beliefs in training are spot on. She took a lot of time answering questions during breaks and after the class. I really like that she knows about dog nutrition and sells quality food and treats. No Science Diet or Milk Bones here folks. I would love to bring my other dog for the intermediate class or GCC class but I live far away. Paula is great too! I've spoken to her over the phone for some advice and she's very nice and helpful. One advice, call for directions. Merry Mac is in a large plaza but not off Sandy Plains, it's off East Piedmont.

I titled this "My Training Experience" because what it really comes down to is training the owner how to teach their dog. I took my 20 lb. mixed breed to Beginner Training 2 weeks after I got her from a rescue organization. We completed Beginner and then Advanced Beginner Training. It would never have occurred to me that I could have a dog Stay on a "spot" for 30 minutes.....but after training I could! I saw an increase in my dog's confidence and in her obedience skills. We have also attended Saturday morning play times which were great for her to be comfortable around other dogs. This is an indoor facility, which is good for those of us who work during the day and need a class in the evening. I am very satisfied with the progress made in class....but go into it knowing that your best results come when you commit to practicing with your dog between classes.

Tina and her staff are dedicated to helping you learn how to talk to and teach your own dog. I have taken 2 dogs through her classes over the years and I have had wonderful results. She taught me how to train my dogs. She didn't train them for me... so they listened to me (not just the trainer). I highly recommend MerryMac for all your training needs.

I have taken my FIVE dogs (and me!) through MerryMac training and each dog has been helped immensely. Tina uses POSITIVE training techniques and no metal chain collars. Tina, Paula, Max and Jim provide quality customer service to you and your pet. Tina and Paula have expansive knowledge of dog nutrition. They have helped greatly when I was faced with special nutritional needs for my dogs. They understand that my dogs are family members.

MerryMac came highly recommended by our veterinarian and we have not been disappointed in the least. Tina McCain is expert and thoroughly professional. In addition, the advice given us regarding dog nutrition has been right on target. Our potentially allergic dog with a sensitive stomach is absolutely thriving. In addition, his training has encourged us now to train him for some service work. We can only speak of MerryMac in superlative terms.

MerryMac has been a great find for us! We've been taking our Bichon to Tina's "doggie playtime" on Saturday mornings for about 3 years. Our little guy loves being there with all the other dogs. He sleeps like a baby the rest of the day! If you're looking for dog training, Tina is the one to talk to. Your dog will learn and so will you! Lastly, Tina is very knowledgeable about dog nutrition. We buy all our dog food and treats from MerryMac. The quality of the food shows in Harry's skin and coat. We highly recommend Tina and MerryMac for any dog training or nutritional needs. And try Saturday playtime! MerryMac offers separate times for little and big dogs. Your dog will love it!

I found MerryMac when I got my first Westie. Tina and her team have been a wealth of information on everything from pet nutrition to behavior training. We attended her Beginner's Class and learned a great deal, not only how to train my dogs but the importance of good nutrition. The Saturday morning playtime for both pups and parents great for developing socialization skills and is lots of fun. Tina and Paula always take the time to educate and answer questions. Stop in and give them a try!

We have trained four dogs with Tina over the years. She has refined her classes changing and improving the curriculum. She teaches you how to get the best results you can adjusting to your dogs specific personality and needs. I can recommend her without reservations.

I first came to MerryMac for the dog playtime on Sat mornings, but soon started buying all my dogs' food and treats here. The quality and prices are great and my dogs' skin and digestive problems are gone. Even my vet doesn't have their knowledge when it comes to feeding and training. MerryMac is a wonderful resource for petowners and I have recommended them to many friends.
