My husband and I have been long term customers with Metro PCS. Recently, we had our service combined to the family plan, to save on our service. We decided to sign up with Metro PCS, was for the unlimited service, no contract, no credit check. Recently we had paid our bill online, like we do each month, the same amount and always printed the confirmation of payment. To our surprise, the next day, our service was deactivated to "Non Payment". My husband called to find out what the additional charges were and to clear up any misunderstanding. Metro PCS is a pay by the month company, so we were confused as to why we were all of a sudden being charged more. They are now charging us a monthly fee, they claim "the government is charging for number portability". Trying to get through to speak with a live customer service rep, was nearly impossible. The automated attendant, kept telling us she could help us. Talking to a computer versus talking to a real person, are two different things. The price we are paying for Metro PCS, we can actually get a better deal going through TMobile, and saving money and getting better phones. TMobile, you can talk wherever you go, where as Metro PCS, you need to pay for 'Travel Talk', when you go out of the area and are limited to which areas you can use Metro PCS service, when out of the area. We have had many "issues" with Metro PCS and this was the final issue, to make our final decision to leave for another company.
