Mexico Cafe

I used to take my family to the Mexico all the time before the reconstruction. The review by Retroguy is dead on. When we went there last week, the wait was forever, eventhough there were tables available everywhere, the food was warm to cold, and the orders wrong. When my wife told the waitress that her order was wrong she became indignent saying my wife must've ordered wrong. Then the waitress also copped another attitude when was asked for more salsa, almost like she was the one who was having to go into the kitchen and make the stuff up. When we asked to speak to the manager noone ever showed up, even when we asked the cashier.The Mexico USED to be a good place - not anymore.

Just got back from the Mexico Cafe. That is undoubtedly one of the most mismanaged disasters I have ever encountered. We got there at 2:25 pm and requested a booth. We were told it would be a 5-10 min. wait. Twenty mins. later we were seated . What was bothersome was that as we walked through the restaurant I spoted eight open booths. They had at least 9 other parties waiting for booths behind us and they had ample seating for most of them, but chose to have them wait. Customers seem an inconvenience to the management. As we walked past the separate room they have behind the double doors I spotted only two of six booths being utilized. I was told that room was reserved for a big party. However, by the time we left there were still empty booths and no big party. Wow!! Can't ask for worse management than that. I also agree with all the others. Their prices skyrocketed after the remodeling. It's obvious they aim to recoup their construction costs from customers within a short period of time. Mexican food is one of the cheapest cuisine's to prepare. However, they charge prices that would be commensurate with a fine steak house or seafood restaurant. Other customers were right with regard to the attitude issue. It appears the attitude not only exists with the servers, it also exists with the management as well. When I questioned the unjustified wait to the obviously young, inexperienced manager I was simply ignored. Last time for this place. I won't patronize a restaurant that has such little regard for its customers. \r\r

I am like the other reviewer.I grew up on Mexico Restaurant. The deluxe burrito and chips and salsa were always my favorite. Unfortunately, in the past year the quality had gone down. It doesn't taste the way it did and I don't know what the changes were, but you can definitely taste the difference. It is still good, but not as great as it used to be....

This was my favorite spot 10 years ago, I mean-I grew up eating at the Mexico Restaurant. Took some vip's there for my boss, to enjoy a margarita and a meal. Service was quick but then drinks alone were $10. ea, small & watered downfood was average. Salads were strangely very watery. I was so embarrased. Asked the waiter and he insisted that ""things have just changed alot here"". ...

The service is slow and many times the order is incorrect. Owner seems ambivalent to criticisms and unwilling to admit shortcomings. Too many Mexican restaurants to put up with this one.
