A Mechanic You Can Trust, 5/18/2009

I have been taking my vehicles to Mike Sams Auto Service for over 15 years. I am always pleased with the work and truly feel they are honest and care about their customers. I have had a few... situations where they checked my vehicle free of charge when they could have charged me at least a minimum labor charge. The main situation that really won me over was several years ago I was driving my toyota pickup truck in the snow when I stopped at the traffic light in Fayetteville and I smelled something very hot. I left my truck with Mike Sams who called me later to tell me that the brake fluid had frozen in the lines which froze my parking break in the ON position even though I had released the lever. I had driven 5 miles with my parking brake on! He put the truck up on the lift and checked my brakes to make sure they had not been damaged and said everything looked alright. When I picked up my truck there was NO charge even though he had spent time checking it over for me. I don't know of another mechanic who would have done that. I feel that many mechanics would have made up some major problem so they could charge me lots of money. Even an honest mechanic would have charged me for a half an hour labor which I would have gladly paid. Not Mike Sams... I am a regular customer and they take care of their customers.
