Thankfully I found Mike who changed up my software, had it ready quickly, showed me some great techniques to make it run more efficiently and his... price was a fair one!! WOW - 3 hrs of phone time later - over $200 min in repairs - I found Mike - he not only set up my printer - he helped me better understand how to use my computer - the smart way! Good bye all those junk emails - hello printer - And my pocket is not empty - Thank You Mike! He even told me to call if i need to or just drop by! QUALITY CUSTOMER SERVICE IS BACK!

I wish we could trust all the firms that service our house and cars and computers like Mike Computers in Woodstock. You may have to drive a little farther, but it's well worth the extra drive knowing that Mike will not rip you off or try to sell you all kinds of add-ons. You can trust Mike Computers. I stopped in because my computer had a virus and Mike's was local. I was very pleased! Not only did Mike remove the virus he was able to save all my files while improving the speed and efficiency of my computer. Having been in retail for 20+ years it is nice to meet someone who takes pride in their work and understands the value of great customer service and communication. I will certainly be recommending Mike to my friend.

My first visit to Mike was a virus on PC. I tried various programs to remove it & non worked. Miked removed it within 2 hrs. & added some extra programs to keep my PC virus free & running smooth. My second visit was a power problem. Mike fixed it within an hour!! Now I have Mike on speed dial.. Very professional and dedicated.

After years of frustrating help from so called knowledgeable friends........ I found Mike. One year ago he updated my 6 year old computer....since then it has been fantastic. It wasn't this fast when I bought it. His prices a more than fair. GIVE HIM A TRY, YOU WILL BE HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS

Mike Olson is always there when I need him. I work from home and my computer is the most important tool I use on a daily basis. Being technically challenged, I depend on Mike to resolve my computer issues. No matter how many times a day or week I call him, he is always prompt to return my calls, and quick to find the solution to my problem. I depend on him for his product knowledge andtechnical support. His rates are affordable for my small business. I highly recommend his service for any business, large or small.

Mike made my laptop run as good as new! And the turn-around time was, by far, much faster than the big stores and the price...extremely reasonable for the hours it took him to correct the self-inflicted damage I had done. I recommend him to anyone I know that needs reliable, professional and genuine computer service! Thanks Mike!

Mike's computers, and his wonderful owner have earned my customer loyalty, after helping me with computer problems on three separate occasions. The quality, and value of his service is absolutely the best I have ever experienced. I will continue to highly recommend Mike's computers to all my family, and friends.

I often use Kudzu.com to find people. I start with distance from my house and then start looking for the 5 stars. Mike definitely qualifies! My laptop was full of viruses, so I gave Mike a try. He removed them quickly and his price was very reasonable. And thanks to the reviewer that criticized his dog. I love Lexi!!! She's the best personal greeter ever!!!

Hope you're a dog lover. Aside from the canine cologne smell of the store, I appreciate Mike's honesty when stopping in. I'm sure his time toying around with systems gives him an edge of experience, but when asked if you needed any certifications or education to work on systems, his reply was "no"...followed by, "you don't need a license to ride a bike do you?". Well, no. But you don't need teeth to eat either, but it helps. I'm afraid his lack of research on anti-virus is disappointing. While he advises free....you get what you pay for with that. While it might be good for Mike, doesn't mean it's good for the average user who is not as savvy as Mike. Also, why the poster of Dell on the wall? If you build systems, are they not a competitor? I'd be hesitant to have this place do anything more than the very basic on computer systems....and only an un-important home system with nothing important on it at that.

Good evening, TroyII. My name is Mike and I am the owner and lead technician of Mike’s Computers. I understand your feelings about your trip to our store, please allow me to offer a response.
In regards to Lexi, our puppy, she is a part of our family and I feel having her at the store is fun for the kids and more humane than keeping her in a crate at somebody's house all day every day.
As far as the certification comment, please understand that technology is a field that is constantly changing. While having a basic certification is nice, much of the criteria for passing such certifications has been irrelevant for years, considering the extremely rapid evolution of technology. For example: One of the most frequent repairs we do is removing virus infections. The coding used to write the infections, as well as the method of delivery of such infections we see on a nearly daily basis changes so frequently that research must be done daily to stay on top of the never-ending technological “tennis match” between black hat hackers and reputable computer technicians. Also, I believe that the best education is obtained by doing, rather than being told how to do.
Regarding my opinion on anti-virus programs, after countless hours of research and personal evaluation, as well as opinions we receive from our customers, I just believe that I cannot advise that there is any benefit to using paid software, such as Norton or McAfee versus using a solid free solution such as AVG or Avast. While every customer’s need is different, I just feel that for the majority of computer users, there is no benefit to paying for something when there is something almost completely equal and often better offered for free. In regards to the Dell poster on my wall, I have used and sold their monitors and laptops in my store and I feel they offer a great product, so I have no qualms having a poster representing them in my store. As far as them being a competitor, they do offer customized desktops. While they do build a cheaper product, I feel that I build a better product using higher quality components and offer better customer service in the unfortunate times when it is necessary, which is the case when dealing with every computer manufacturer.
We take computer repair, data security, and customer satisfaction extremely seriously and while we honestly cannot please every customer that chooses us, we will always give our absolute best and will always, first and foremost, be completely honest and treat every single customer with the care we’d expect from any other retailer or service center we’d choose to use.
All in all, I understand your feelings and reservations and thank you for your review. Criticism is always welcomed, as I'll never really know how we're doing unless we receive honest reviews.
We were referred to Mike through 2 different friends so I figured 'why not'? Mike repaired our laptop and added security features so we would not experience trouble again and was always available when I called... I have finally found someone reliable!

After 3 trips to fix up my eight year old laptop, which he did very well, I realized I needed a new computer which Mike built for me. I works splendidly was ready on time and at the pricce he quoted. I highly recommend Mike.
