Started out Fine, 10/12/2011

I bought a high tea for 4 as a "Deal" on line. The "Deal" price was great but when the "tip" bill arrived for 20% for 4 guests and we were three. I was shocked. I thought I was the one who would... decide the tip. It was $20 based on full value of 4 teas instead of the "deal" I paid for on line. Maybe I am just behind the times with sort of thing but was not warned in the deal that I would be charged a fixed tip based on full value of the 4 High Teas! Service was pleasant. Did not see owner.

Yuck., 3/05/2011

The Roswell Mittie's moved a few times in the last few years, and I had high hopes once it ended up at the Plum Street location and stayed there. But I find the restaurant uncomfortable and have had... really bad food here, which is such a disappointment since it used to be so good. Service was minimal- order taken, food and drinks brought out eventually- but those were our only two visits by the server. The restaurant was dirty on the day that we visited. Don't confuse this location with the Alpharetta location, which is separately owned and has great food and service.

Delightful Experience

Saturday I took my granddaughters (ages 6 and 9) to Mittie's for a "ladies'" lunch. We had a wonderful time: charming atmosphere, delicious food, reasonable prices, and the staff knew exactly how to treat young ladies to a special day: their own special pot of lemonade served with dainty china cups and saucers, paper roses in their favorite colors, a children's menu just right for young ladies, and entrees their mother and grandmother could enjoy. I understand the original owner has returned, perhaps that explains why my experience was so wonderful compared to that of some earlier reviewers. At any rate, on Saturday Mittie's was just "perfect" for our special day!

Do Not Host an Event Here!

I will not go back to Mittie's Tea Room in Roswell. The owner is rude and has no concept of customer service. I changed my number of guests, before any food was prepared, and was still charged for 2 people that were not going to be there. The owner refused to change the order with the kitchen, even after our server informed me that it was not a problem. I booked a private party and after an hour and 10 min was told we had 20 min to get out... the place was empty! We were the only ones there and they were rushing me out, ??!! By the way, the directional signs on Canton St. lead people down a 1 way street! Everyone was confused and had to find another way to get to the tea room. Don't host an event here. I booked it even after reading many bad reviews and thought how bad could it be... well, I learned my lesson.

Disappointing

DO NOT GO HERE!!!My daughter and I were excited to find a tea room open on a Sunday afternoon. The food was good, but we won't go back there and will never recommend this place to anyone because the older woman who both sat and served us, (I assume she was the owner), was very rude and unpleasant. She is definitely not an asset to the place.

Horrible Service

I was here for a bridal shower a few weeks ago. I thought that the tea and the food was alright but the service was AWFUL. The main woman working was very rude and pushy always pushing past everyone. And while the bride-to-be was opening her gifts in the back area she was talking on the phone the whole time and walking in and out the front door which slams loudly. I would not recommend hosting a shower or luncheon here.

Not returning here....

This place was recommended to me for my bridal luncheon and I regret ever going here! The service was horrible and our bridal party and family was seated right in front while another party got the back room (we could have at least been informed of this prior to gettnig there), but that's how this place seems to run and they don't seem to care.

A lawsuit waiting to happen?

Worst.dining.experience.Ever. My first and LAST trip to this "tea room." The day we had a tea luncheon, Mittie's was crowded to the point that a waitress bumped into a 12-year-old in our party, and scalding water went down her back. She was hurt and scared but ok, fortunately. Waitress did not seem concerned; neither did manager. We felt rushed; whle having tea, food was brought out too early, and one order was wrong. The waitress never bothered to ask how things were. Neither did the 2nd one after the hot water spill sent the first waitress avoiding our table like the plague. Entire meal ruined by one (long-time) bumbling waitress who could have sent a child to the hospital. Add to that difficulty parking in their small lot and general lackadaisical attitude by staff - never again - UGH!

Disappointed

I have been to Mittie's Tea Room in the past several times at the old location on Canton Street. Back then it was sooooo good, such a great atmosphere, great looking desserts and a real treat! Now in the new location at Plum and Green street, it's just not the same. I heard it is under new management, but not for sure. It was lacking the previous "tea room" atmosphere and the chicken salad wasn't as good. I'll not go back again. What a shame. It used to be so good.

Healthy with Taste

Mittie's Tea Room is great - relaxed atmosphere and great food. A fun young staff is knowledgeable of their menu. Lots of menu items are healthy - low fat and cholesterol and are clearly marked. The veggie noodle salad is GREAT! and so is he Quiche!
