Mohney, Mark W MD

Dr. Mohney has been my doctor for over 15 years. Glaucoma runs in my family so I have to get my eyes checked regularly. He is so patient with the elderly and treats them with dignity. As I had to bring my mother suffering with Alzheimer's using a rollator walker, he would take time to remind her who he was and what they were going to do and why without yelling at her. He genuinely cares about his patients and you can feel it in his conversation and his treatment. His staff took excellent care of my mother whenever she was out of my sight. Dr. Mohney has a gentle touch and engaging humor. He treated my sister for an eye infection the same week that she called. I run into people all over Atlanta that are patients of Dr. Mohney and we all agree that he's as good as they come.

I have been a patient of Dr. Mohney's for about 20 years and he has taken excellent care of my eyes.
I recently had cataract surgery in both eyes (two weeks apart) and the result was remarkable. I can now see without glasses and my vision is as good as it was 40 years ago when I first started wearing glasses.
Dr. Mohney explained every step of the surgery and told me about all of the hazards. As a practicing Forensic Engineer, I appreciated this very much.
It is hard to give a technical evaluation of the improvement but I can truly say that it is an incredible improvement. I am dellighted with my new vision. And my night vision is as good as it was when I was in my 30's.
Dr. Mohney is truly one of the most skillful eye surgeons anywhere. I couldn't have asked for a better result.
His staff was professional and friendly and I was treated with respect at every stage of the surgery from the initial examinations on through to the follow-up visits. I will using Dr. Mohney as my eye Doctor from now on.

I have seen Dr. Mohney for over 10 years and he has always been warm, professional and personable and went the extra mile when another doc of mine wanted an immediate opinion.

My last visit in June of 2009, in his new bldg, was the worst ever. His asst. ignored my complaints of blurred vision and did not complete the battery of screening tests and he DID NOT even notice this. As an MS patient, good eye exams are crucial to retain your eyesight. My entire visit lasted 15 mins and that included me going back and waiting until he came out of a room to ask a question I neglected to ask during my rushed exam.

I've seen him for the last time. As someone else said, "You only get one pair of eyes."

I found this doctor to be hurried and condescending. He seemed bothered by my questions, but had plenty of time to talk about how good his personal hygiene is. (Although when he spoke too close, I almost gagged.)

His high opinion of himself seems to be well documented on this website. I notice that after receiving a bad review (that sounds similar to my experience), the doctor suddenly received rave reviews for his diagnostic skills and warm heart. I am suspicious that the reviews are all so glowing and seem to be written in the same voice.

In response to CCLMom, yes I am a real person and not a committee of responders. I've just completed cataract surgery on my other eye and Dr. Mohney was as kind and professional as with my first surgery. My praise of him is echoed by other patients I met at his office. Perhaps positive vibes are too stessful for some?
