very poor service
Today we had a very bad experience with this restaurant , we ordered food to go, when picked up there were several items missing and we had to go back and ask for them, also, the person on the cashier does not give back the change. very disappointed for a such a resturant that suppose or people think it has a name in orange county. will never never go back again. there are too many small restaurant which are far better. do not go there

i love this place. i got to mortons in every city i visit that has one. from steaks to sides they are amazing. try the godiva chocolate cake for dessert. even if you're not in the mood for steak it's worth making the trip down just this cake..amazing!

Bad management - rude, uncooperative hostess and manager Food is not what it used to be
I don't eat a lot of meat, but when I do it always had to be Morton's. I've been to many and always loved thier NY strip - melts in your mouth. This is definitely a special occasion place (that's where my husband proposed to me). Anyway, having said that, I must tell you how disappointed I was when I went there recently. The place had a diffrent vibe - not in a good way. Any restaurant's first impression is made by the hostess (good or bad). Well, our hostess was too busy chit chatting with other co-workers, too busy to acknowledge us for the first five minutes. Then, we were given a tiny table right next to a booth - it felt like a double date, since I could hear every single word the other couple was saying. When I complained that we made reservations for a special occasion and requested a booth, we were abruptly told that they were reserved (at that time they were all empty). At my husband's request to make the best of our situation, I ordered what I always ordered, but the waiter suggested a different way of cooking the meat. Needless to say, I ended up with a piece of meat that looked and tasted like a shoe sole. I was so shocked that my favorite place was now on my list of places to avoid. The management never once tried to accomodate us in any way.\rBad service and bad taating food should be unacceptable in a place such as this - that charges everythig a la carte.

Good food, good service... Overall good.
My boyfriend's family and I went to Morton's for his dad's birthday. We were a bit early for our reservation, but was sat 15 mins after our actual reservation. We were sat right in front of the open kitchen, which for some is probably not ideal, but we liked the view. However, we did leave smelling like our dinner! We all ordered different cuts of steak and shared sides which were all pretty good, not amazing. The staff was great and my boyfriend's parents appreciated the well-lit ambiance, unlike other darkly lit upscale restaurants. Overall I would recommend this place, but probably won't go back anytime soon. One more thing, their creme brulee is large enough to share and on point. I would say i had an equal experience at Lawry's or Ruth Chris.

Great Food, Great Atmosphere, Decent Service
Synopsis of Recommendations:\r- Appetizer: Bacon-Wrapped Scallops, Excellent \r\r- Entree: Chicago Style Ribeye: Best Steak I've Ever Tasted \r\r- Get it cooked ""Medium Rare Plus"" \r\r- Dessert: Chocolate Souffle, The Perfect Meal Cap \r\r \rI arrived at Morton's on a Saturday evening at 5:45, we were shown to our seat promptly and our waiter was to our table within seconds. \r \rThe Atmosphere: Classy, but fun. They had varieties of Jazz and Big Band playing in the background, lots of dark wood and low lighting, but just enough noise to make it intimate yet bustling. \r \rThe Food: They have some of the standard appetizers for a Steakhouse joint, you can look them up on their web site, we had the Scallops wrapped in Bacon with Apricot Chutney, which I would definitely recommend, the smoked, seafood, and sweet tastes blended well together. \r \rWhile I'm certain their seafood is decent, I went with their Chicago Bone-in Ribeye and it is a contender for the best steak I've ever tasted (sorry Dad). The outside was blackened a bit, but the inside was a meat manifestation of heaven, the taste was unbelievable.. I would also recommend their ""Medium Rare Plus"" with the ""Hot Red Center"" for how they cook it, much better than Rare in my opinion. \r \rThe Service: While they do fulfill some of the ""place the napkin on your lap, scrape the crumps from you tablecloth"" bit, and the waiter over all was fairly responsive, it did take them a bit of time to fulfill our request for Soda Water (I'm a messy fellow) and our souffle was a bit late (which we ordered at the beginning of the meal).
