We went to the movie tavern for a date night recently and I told my husband to never take me back again. The menu is simlar to TGI Fridays, but the quality of the food is AWFUL. I seriously pictured high school students "zapping" my food in a microwave before it was brought out to me. Yucko. I had to walk past the kitchen to get to our theater and I made the mistake of looking inside. I had to hold my stomach and refused to touch anything until after I ate. The movie ticket is cheaper than the local AMC, but I think I'll just drive to The Woodlands for now.

The tickets seem to be a little cheaper, you get stadium seating with a few major difference from the average theater. Your choice of seating, sit in a large desk chair at a long desk, or sit on the average theater seat with a table in front of you. Why the tables? Food of course, it's also a restaurant! Menu's, waiters and real food await.

I love the new trend of restaurant movie theaters, and I love that there is a place like this near my house, but I'm not a huge fan of this particular one. Probably because I was spoiled by going to Studio Movie Grill near 1960 and 290. The food here is rather heavy and just ok, and the service is spotty. I once bought a ticket only to have the cashier turn to the person next to her and tell her what happens in the movie, right in front of me! When you push the button for service, it can take quite some time for someone to reply. And they will stand in front of people who are watching the movie while they figure out their orders.. not good. Oh, and when I saw Batman there, I could barely hear the dialogue, even after asking them to turn up the sound. And they don't give refunds for any reason.
