Mr. Rooter/Mr. Ripoff, 5/24/2013

If you have a problem with work done by Mr. Rooter you can forget about calling customer service. They'll tell you each one is independently owned and there's nothing they can do. You can't get the... manager to even take a call. I called them out to repair an outside leak. $29.95 dispatch fee they tell you. When the plumber got to my house I showed him the leak right against my wall. He said if it was in the foundation it would cost $1100.00. I told him I couldn't pay that but what would it be if he got to the pipe and it was in the foundation and I had just leave it. He said $179.95. So he dug into about 6-10 inches of very soft loose dirt that could actually be removed with a hand trowel it was so soft. The pipe was not broken only had come unglued or was never glued from a previous repair. He applied glue to the connection, didn't have to had any parts at all. The entire process took about 5 minutes and a wait time for it to dry of 45 minutes. He then charged me $458.97. He said I'll call my boss and see if if I can charge you the $179.00 but his boss said no. $458.97. Don't do business with any Mr. Rooter. If you go to the website or call customer service you just get the run around.

Dissapointed in this company, 8/17/2011

We have used them before and were happy customers. Made the appt for 10-1:00. They called at noon to say it would be more like 2:00. I called them at 2:00 and was told it would be 4:00. Try someone... else if you need them to show up.

Could Have Been a Bad Morning...

I called Mr. Rooter to clean my septic tank. Once the two technicians cleaned out the tank, they pointed out that the pipe coming into the tank was slanting upward, which would eventually hinder drainage, causing a clog. They dug up the pipes and discovered the original contractor had used the wrong type of pipe and had not even sealed them. They replaced the pipes quickly, were reasonably priced and when they accidentally cut the main water line, immediately repaired it. The techs were pleasant, clearly communicated everything to me, and went above and beyond what was required and expected. I highly recommend this company!

Best in town !

Last weekend, my youngest discovered that flushing a small stuffed animal down the toilet was the quickest way to make mommy and daddy mad. Mr. Rooter got to our place in a quick amount of time and had that stupid bunny pulled out of the septic tank pipe in about 15 minutes. Our septic guy also joked about how it's a pretty common call for him to get. I am reassured that I'm not the only parent of a two-year-old toilet scientist. We also had him pump the tank while he was out and the pricing and professionalism was outstanding !

Incredible Company

We had a sudden septic problem on a Thurs. the week of a snow storm and live on a gravel road with wooden bridge and was concerned the truck wouldnt be able to make it out let alone cross the bridge. We called Mr. Rooter and spoke with the manager who drove out first in his pickup to make sure he could get his septic truck up. He also had to arrange for a small back hoe to access the septic. He quoted us a price of 200.00 and came back to complete the service that same day. The job became way more complecated but he stood by his quote. I would hightly recommend this company and their workers. We will have him back in the future for maintenance. A couple of my friends have used him since and are spreading the word about this great company !

A crappy company (pun intended)

I had an appointment with this company on December 29th from 1:00 - 4:00. They never showed. At 7:19 that night, they called to let me know that they were running late....3 hours later, that is. I mean, come on...they called @ 7:19 to let me know they couldn't make it at 4:00?!?! I saved the VM, if anyone wants to hear it. Then, they rescheduled me for December 30th between 4:00 - 7:00. Guess what?!?! I received a call from them @ 7:43 (yep, have the VM saved) letting me know that they were....(anyone want to take a guess)....running late and needed to reschedule. Anyway, I went with another company and let this other company know about my experience with Mr. Rooter (I even specifically mentioned Mr. Rooter's name so that this other company could make sure that they know that their competition is crappy (pun intended) and HOPEFULLY, use it in any advertising campaign that they have to deter customers from Mr. Rooter. Bottom line is that if you are a working man or woman and have to take time off for a plumbing company to come out to your house, Mr. Rooter is NOT the company you want to call!

Great Company

I booked a appointment for a septic tank cleaning service and could only be home on saturday. They called me an hour or so before my appointment to let me know a technician was in route. My husband couln't be there so i was thinking about changing the appointment but I didn't. The guy ( Steven) showed up on time, was very clean, friendly, informative and VERY professional. He pumped the sewage tank and inspected my system for free and put my yard and grass back the way it was originally. Steven was very careful and respected my property. I expected alot of damage to my yard but that wasnt the case. The price was exactly what he said before he started the work. This guy needs a raise ! Thank you for the pleasant experiance Mr Rooter and Steven ! I will recommend you to all my friends and family. - Mrs. W
