I recently had Mr. Handyman out to repair a broken fence and replace two ceiling fans with new units. I had the feeling that the franchise owner, Nenette, is committed to good service, but what the consumer actually gets is highly dependant on the skill level of the workman that shows up. And because this service is billed on an hourly basis, a slow worker can result in an expensive job. My handyman did not provide a time estimate prior to starting the job - something I should have insisted upon. What was probably an innocent addition mistake on his part led to a $200 over-charge on my final bill, but it was corrected when I pointed it out. Overall, I am quite satisfied by the work, but think it might have been an expensive way to go.

I am a member of San Diego Pros, a business league in San Diego, of which Mr Handyman is also a member. We meet on a weekly basis and I am impressed by Nenette's (the business owner) dedication to providing top quality workers to do only top quality work. She consistently brings good ideas to our group and is focused on improving business and business opportunities for all. I trust her and will refer business to her at every opportunity.

I am writing this because we were scammed by Nanette Agulto and Mr. Handyman and don't want the same to happen to anyone else. My wife is 8 months pregnant and before our baby comes we wanted to fix up the house for our upcoming baby. We hired Nanette who owns Mr. Handyman after doing research online and reading reviews left by two previous customers. We felt since Mr. Handyman is a national franchise that they would offer good service at fair prices. We were very mistaken. We have been scammed by Nanette Agulto and Mr. Handyman for $5,000. Not one project has been completed. We have been literally out of a bathroom for 4 wks; try living in a one bathroom house with an 8 month pregnant wife. After she collected her $5,000 for the unfinished project, we were left with a completely gutted bathroom and all 7 other projects weren't even touched. And now she has stated she will take legal action if I state my opinion online! Click the below link for the entire story on how we were scammed: http://scammedbymrhandyman.wordpress.com/?p=3

My Handyman is highly recommended!!! You get what you pay for, for sure. We did not want to have to worry about going with someone who may be a little cheaper - when we felt 100% confident with Mr. Handyman. You can be confident Mr. Handyman all the way!!! Our Concrete work that was done is outstanding!!!!! We did alot of exstensive hardscaping on our property and it turned out beautiful. We will definetely refer Mr. Handyman's crew to anyone looking for a beautiful job done and no worries!
