Mr. Tansmission was very helpful with my recent visit. I have a work van I use every day and thought there was a problem with the transmission. They were quick to diagnose the problem. Turns out it was engine related. They personally walked me next door and introduced me to the owner of a business that services engine problems. Mr. Transmission was very friendly and made me feel at ease during a stressful time. Definitely recommend!

As the owner of a 17 year old vehicle, it's understandable that more and more needs arise over time. I'm grateful to have Mr. Transmission to help me keep my vehicle in good condition. The team at Mr. Transmission are honest professionals as they assess and repair the problem - or tell me the need isn't transmission-related. I trust them. Their pricing is fair and reasonable, and they treat me with respect. They are prompt, courteous and service-oriented in every way. I will continue to trust them with my car and know I'll have it as long as possible because of their kindness, professionalism and quality care. They truly take pride in the service they offer. A very positive experience after my car died on Abernathy Road. Friendly staff rebuilt my transmission and sent me on my way home - 75 miles away. I returned after 30,000 miles were added to my speedometer and had the transmission fluid replaced. Another good experience. They also checked out my vehicle to make sure it was in good running order. All this was done at no additional cost.

Mr. Transmission--Sandy Springs is a truly professional and honest company. I would give them 10 STARS if it were possible. I never take the time to write business reviews, but I couldn't pass up the opportunity to share my experience with Mr. Transmission--Sandy Springs. Out of the blue my perfectly running car stopped shifting gears. Frustrated after four calls to four different auto repair and transmission shops, and being told I needed a new transmission, a friend recommended Mr. Transmission--Sandy Springs. I spoke with owner Lowell Hester about my problem. He took the time to talk to me over the phone, without just telling me I needed a new transmission. He asked pointed questions about my car's history to better ascertain what might have precipitated the problem. Lowell described a scenario of how the gear shift would react immediately after it stopped shifting gears. His description was on point with what I experienced. He then allayed my fears about a high bill and said he thought the problem was minor. He told me to have car towed in and he would inspect the transmission for free. Lowell was right! The problem was minor. Thank you Lowell for being such an honest man! I HIGHLY recommend Mr. Transmission--Sandy Springs, without hesitation, to anyone and EVERYONE looking for an honest company with integrity, professionalism and great service! My car was towed to Mr Transmission—Sandy Springs around 9am one morning. By 12:30pm my car was repaired, and to my surprise delivered back to my house! The two crew members that delivered my car were highly professional and very personable. One was the mechanic who explained that the problem was very minor and easy to fix--and at NO COST! It reminded me of the olden days when business people were honest and caring. Mr. Transmission—Sandy Springs EXCEEDS ALL EXPECTATIONS!

It is so rare any more to find service that is honest and trustworthy. I highly recommend Lowell to any with trans troubles. Had leaks from the trans on my vintage and rare 1962 T'bird sports roadster. They told me it was just a couple of gaskets (they could have easily said trans seals, and charged for an overhaul). After repeated issues of the supplier not sending the correct gaskets they needed, it was fixed for an extremely reasonable price. In the meantime, they kept it under cover, and treated it with kid gloves!!!! ***** stars for Lowell and his crew. EXCELLENT!!!!!!

Problem #1 -- Lowell Kept my vehicle for OVER ONE MONTH (on a 3 day job). Every few days I got a "we're almost there" pep talk. Problem #2 -- Lowell delivered a leaking transmission that intermittently fails to shift in low gears. He has worked on the vehicle 3X now, and the transmission still leaks / fails to shift, and squeals. Problem #3 -- The final time I took my vehicle to Lowell (under warranty) he smarmily informed me I had voided my warranty by driving a vehicle with a leaking transmission. He advised me to "just sell the vehicle and get a new one." This problem is a safety concern -- there are moments when I pull out into traffic, and my vehicle does not shift (won't accelerate). This malfunction has almost caused me one accident. The Nissan dealership has identified that the transmission coolant lines installed are too large, and that clamps have been tightened to decrease leakage, but lines still leak. From my experience, Lowell's workmanship is extremely poor, and his integrity is even worse. Very insincere fake nice man, who puts on a sweet grandpa act, and then talks dirty once he has your money.

We are sincerely sorry this customer is disappointed in his experience at our company. It is our priority to make sure all our customers are 100% satisfied with our services and if not, we always take the measures to make it right and stand by our warranty. Due to complications with this vehicle, it did take longer than normal to repair the transmission. However, we were very upfront about this and even made an appointment for him to come in so we could explain and show him the issues. The vehicle was returned to the customer and it was understood that he would bring it back in 10 days for a recheck, but the customer did not return with the vehicle until more than four weeks later. We then found the transmission to be low on fluids due to a leak, which was fixed and when he returned to pick his vehicle up, the customer asked us to further extend the warranty. This was not an option because we had explained the importance of checking the fluid after repairs and driving with low fluid levels COULD void the warranty and also cause unnecessary damages to the transmission. Due to things escalating to shouting and inappropriate language on the customer's end, we unfortunately had to call the Sandy Springs police when the customer was asked to leave and refused to do so. In December the customer contacted our franchisor, Moran Industry's customer service, and stated he suspected his transmission might be leaking again and requested they recommend another Mr. Transmission center and still be covered by the warranty he had with us. To clarify, LOCAL ONLY warranty means that for a reduced price on repair costs, the customer agrees any issues with his transmission would be repaired at the original shop. Once we were advised of the customer's concern, we notified him by mail and advised that he bring the transmission fluid to proper level and bring the vehicle back to our shop (where it was under local warranty) to be looked at. We received no response from the customer until Moran customer services notified us that the customer had called them again. We called the customer and asked that he call us back. No response. Once we did finally reach the customer by phone, it was understood the customer did not want to bring his vehicle back to our shop. Our customer service can attest to this customer's unreasonable language and actions as well. Again, we are very sorry that this customer's experience was not what either of us would have wanted, but we have made every attempt to honor the warranty both parties agreed to.
Can't say enough great things about Lowell and Cindy! They make sure your vehicle is fixed right and they are not satisfied until everything is working as it should. They treat you right and value you as a customer. I will definitely be back, and have already recommended them to friends, who have been very satisfied as well.

THESE FOLKS ARE GREAT! From the minute I walked in the door, I was greeted kindly and attentively to issues with my vehicle. Cindy and Lowell put my mind at ease and I never felt rushed or pressured. I thought my transmission was starting to go bad on me with an unfamiliar sound. I received a call and was told that my transmission was in good operating condition. NO CHARGE!!! They spent a good 2 hours on my vehicle and was surprised that they wouldn't even accept anything I would pay them for their time. I was given a referral for other work that I will need soon, and went over there to speak with them. I want to thank Lowell and Cindy again for their time, courtesy, and most of all them being honest with me.

They acted quickly to get my car towed to their location and got back to me same day with their recommendation for my best plan of action, even though it did not involve them making repairs but instead sending it to the dealership. Honesty goes a long way in this business. I will be back.

I was highly disappointed regarding my experience today at Mr. Transmission in Sandy Springs. I brought my vehicle in for a test drive to determine the source of erratic shifting after being told, over the phone, that a diagnostic was free. After leaving my vehicle for a few hours, I was told the inspection was complete and that my transmission was failing. Being a thrifty shopper, I wanted to receive a few quotes from various shops for a repair. Upon picking up my vehicle, I spoke with the shop foreman Lowell who confirmed what was said on the phone. When I asked him for a diagnostic write up, he told me with a sly grin that that would cost $89.95, as if he has played this "free at first but not really free" joke on many unsuspecting patrons before. I asked if he was serious and he responded "Yep, if I have to write it down it'll cost you $90". Not exactly the standard you want to set in terms of consistent message delivery, especially when one should realize that I was a potential $3000 invoice for a new transmission. Once he and the secretary Cindy realized I was not going to have them do the work immediately I was basically shown the door in an incredibly rude manner. Honestly I felt patronized and lied to. Overall, the demeanor of the two employees I dealt with was the most unprofessional I have ever experienced in an automotive repair situation. Take your business elsewhere.

We certainly do offer a free performance check or diagnostics and estimate of transmission repair costs; however, we are not in the business of offering an opinion or estimate of costs for repairs after the fact. We are sorry if there was any miscommunication about this, but we did perform the free diagnosis and determined there were issues with the transmission and the installation. We then called you and reviewed the diagnosis over the phone. Written diagnostics are the property of Mr. Transmission and if requested, then copies may be provided to the customer at the manager's discretion. From our conversation, you stated the transmission was not good and wanted it diagnosed before the warranty expired so you could get a refund. Unfortunately it isn't our policy to provide copies of our findings for the purpose of customers obtaining a refund for parts or work performed by another party prior to our diagnosis. With an initial quote for a $ 3,300 transmission replacement, my wife and I were in the market for a second opinion. Our most positive experience began with a phone call to Mr Transmission, where a few inquisitive questions were asked and some encouraging suggestions were made before we spent any money or go anywhere. After we checked a few things ourselves, it was with confidence we brought our vehicle to the owner Lowell where he invested over 2 hours of looking into the vehicle and found no evidence of an actual transmission issue. He then brought my wife(and vehicle) to a neighboring shop for what turned out to be something minor leading to a $ 350 repair ( A $ 3000 difference from our first quote at a reputable shop) WOW! Their team even kindly provided transportation to the house for my wife, as the repair would not be complete until the following day. It is difficult finding Honest and trustworthy service and we found Mr Transmission to be an OUTSTANDING example of a forthright business with a helpful demeanor and integrity! Thank you!! We would highly recommend you go here to take care of your vehicle needs..you will be in good hands!

My car died in a parking lot. I called Mr. Transmission and they took care of me! Lowell connected me with a tow service who picked up my car and delivered it right to him. He offered to cover that cost, if upon evaluation he could repair and I elected to let him do the work. Within a few day he had the car ready to. He actually took the time to show me what went wrong and what he replaced. My daughter was with me when I picked up the car and she even said the she learned a thing or two about transmissions. This is a man who is obviously proud of his work - and you get the same feeling from his entire staff! Oh and by the way my car is running better than it was before!

I originally took my car in for a quote based on service done at a different Mr. Transmission almost 30 years ago. Repairs were done as quoted with no add-ons to my 2001 Honda Accord EX and in the time specified in the quote. Friendly service and was endorsed by my regular mechanic. Transmission was totally rebuilt and has been running great since repair work done.

Ha transmission issue with our VW Cabrio, and noted the sign from Abernathy road of Mr. Transmission. Took it there and they were professional, checked the car out and then gave me an estimate range to fix. Came in under the highest estimate closer to the lowest and the car runs great. Had the shop next door do some other work on car, and all went well. Worth the money and now car is worth something, while before not even $100. So keeping the Cabrio for another 5 years.
