Having bad experience with Newpro, 5/12/2015

Had 18 windows installed last fall. As the cold weather came it the house became noticeably cold and drafty. We noticed several windows were not set squarely, and some had light (and cold air)... leaking around the edges. So I call and a tech comes out and adds weather stripping. I gave this fix a chance, but it still wasn't helping much. I spoke to somebody in service and was told there would be a conference call with the factory, but when the tech comes out for the 2nd time, once again more weather stripping is slapped in. I called back and complained and at this point it became really hard to get through to a human being, voicemail was not responded to, etc. Finally the crew comes back and they TRIED to adjust a few windows, not even the worst ones. So at this point I figure I need outside help since I'm not getting anywhere and I'm not an expert. So I get another professional in the field for a second opinion and he confirms that the windows were not set squarely, there is little to no insulation around the frames, and that is where the cold is getting in. And vinyl siding is not wrapped around outside well. I finally get through to somebody higher up and the owner calls me, but gives me the usual dismissive "we've been in business 70 years" speech and sounds skeptical of my claim. He said they'll send (once again) somebody out next week.

Best windows in New England, 5/07/2015

10 years ago we had Newpro windows installed. To this day they are perfect and energy efficient. Love Newpro windows. Our new project is Newpro siding.

We have used NewPro before

We have used NewPro before and was very happy. So far this time they have fallen short. We had installation July 27th, the front window was smashed onto the yard and we are still picking up glass, all the screws from another window were dropped onto the driveway, I think we finally have found most of those before they found one of our tires. The screens came in the wrong size from the order and the installation is an embarrassment. The manager did respond quickly and has promised to correct the screen and installation. One month later we are still waiting to see what happens.

It was kind of a fiasco when it came to coming out and putting in the correct windows. There was a miscommunication between NEWPRO and Marvin. They were very nice and they did expedite the next set of windows so we did not have to wait as long.

When the high pressure sales

When the high pressure sales guy came in to quote the job, I fell for every trick in the book. ex: "if I leave and you don't sign, the deal is off the table. When I said I want the job done on "x", he said no problem. When that date arrived and no one showed up I was told that he had no authority to schedule installations. If that is the case, why did not one from Newpro follow up? (the sales guy never returned any calls and his email always bounced) When the installer did come, he was on time. As far as the installation, the walls are spongy in places (and also the floor by the drain), (he did put in a piece of plywood down, but that now will interfere with tiling the floor). The shower rod is lower than the previous one so I had to cut 3" off my shower curtain so it would not drag on the floor, and most importantly, the back wall is so close to the door that the moulding that I took down no longer fits and I need to customize. I just got a posting in the mail with a survey code, which is different that the one I received on like, so for all I know they will not be able to match this with the the actual work. I had received a quote for my second bathroom. That certainly is not happening (nor a new slider). A friend of mine at work was looking to get a bathroom done and asked me about my installation. In all honesty, I had to say go elsewhere. At any rate, being in business for 75 years must mean that you are doing something right, but it just did not come together for this installation.Pete Rosebush2 Concord Greene #7Concord MA 01742

The front of the window

The front of the window is a little different than an Anderson replacement. The window fits into a groove - odd. The window pane dividers go thru the whole window instead of just one side, inside, (I knew that) and actually it gives the window a "heavier" look. Not so attractive to me. The pre stain is good. Overall the window works for the bedroom. And I have o doubt the insulation is very good.

Could not install "Walk in

Could not install "Walk in Tub unless they tore out back of house and bring it in hole created. Yes hole would be repaired. Like new?????Found one corner of Shower floor unsealed .Might it leak ?????

TLDR: I feel we overpaid

TLDR: I feel we overpaid for a inferior install and poor communication between sales dept, installers, management, and the customer. NewPro has lots of problems that need to be worked out. The sales rep told us to contact him if there were any problems, and we did. My wife decided on a color change and before the order was placed we called the sales rep to let him know we wanted a different color. It was always a huge hassle getting a hold of him and we had to call multiple times and leave 4 messages with him before we realized nothing was happening on NewPro's end to change the order. After far too much run around and two months of delay, the change finally happened, and the correct bath fitting came in. Unfortunately, that was not the end of troubles. After the install, my wife noticed that some bath fittings are polished nickle, and we ordered chrome. To this day, the wrong parts are still installed. Also, the caulking job was subpar at some seams. At least that was quickly fixed. About a month ago I began demolition on the rest of the bathroom, and I noticed that only one section of drywall was newly installed. This is weird because the subsurface was tile bonded to drywall with construction adhesive. The contract said any damaged wall was to be taken out and replaced. I find it hard to believe they could remove the tile and the drywall could not be considered damaged. The entire install now seems to me to have been done on the cheap. I feel the entire thing is destined to fall apart and I feel a little fleeced. Overall a poor install and customer service. Though the later half of this I have been in contact with the managers/owners, but none of my fears have been alleviated by them, and the current path seems to be me waiting for the thing to fail before they will fix it.

I have NEWPRO windows along

I have NEWPRO windows along with the shower surround they put in for me. I have had NEWPRO windows since 1989. I've had a couple issues with them, but they came right away and fixed them. It is never a problem, and they stand behind their product 100%. When I called them for this job, I knew I was getting someone that knew what they were doing.
