I've used the Duluth NTB for years and think they do a great job. My wife takes her car there as well. Sometimes pricing is a bit high (I think) but they took care of any warranty issue I've had... without an issue or more money. I'll give them an A.VIEW MORE »VIEW LESS »
I had been bringing 2 cars to this NTB and always seemed to be taking it in to have things fixed or told I needed things fixed that were unnecessary. One person there is professional and friendly,... but the other guy didn't even address me by name, just as the car I brought in. They wanted to charge me $18 to fix a taillight, we bought and put it in ourselves for $2.50 to give you a slight idea of how much extra you pay. I just really don't like the customer service, I think they did a decent job on repairs, but always told needed more done to my car. I used this NTB for several years and was always happy with the service and pricing. I stop going there last year after noticing a significant decline in the management. My last experience there was very negative in that they took offense in my asking how long they needed to complete the repair. The guy snapped at me and never answered my question so i asked for the manager hoping to just relay my dissppointment. The assistant manager was even weaker. After 10 years of supporting the store they blew it. I went home and wrote a letter to the regional manager and never heard anything. This store is right by my home and is very convenient but life is too short to give money to creeps that don't know how to treat customers.
I have been a customer of NTB formerly NTW for 15+ years. I will not be doing any further business there. The last two or three years it has been different or maybe I just became aware of how they do business. Every time I went there they always said I needed something done to my car. They would give me $900 estimates for shocks. I had a person who works there tell me about the managers meetings they had and how upper management would tell the sales people they needed to step up sales anyway they could. CROOKS!!!!
I have been a NTB loyal customer to this location for over 6 years and NTW 15. The last three times I have gone into this location the short little red-neck tough guy always tries to force me into a $500.00 ticket. I fell for his scare tactics the second time only to be recommended the same exact services on my next visit. Without letting him know that I just had the said services done “He didn’t remember me”, I asked the guy if he knew what he was doing. I then asked him if one of the familiar faces could help me rather than him. I always had such good experiences from everyone else there. He claimed that he was the service manager and got offended and became extremely rude towards me. He was very aggressive towards me. The younger guy “another new face” picked up on my disappointment. He tried his best to make things right. They need to switch positions if they plan on staying in business. The other people in the waiting room all felt the same way. I asked the mechanic directly how my car looked and he said everything looked just fine…. This means that crook just makes things up to scare people into buying. I do mean scare into when he will straight tell you your car will blow up if you do not get this done right now!!! Well I hope they enjoy the $500.00 sell because it cost them thousand in the long run!!!!!! If you still go to this location avoid that “No Service Manager”.
After being a loyal customer to this NTB store for years, new staff have ruined the relationship. First, I took my van in for oil and alignment update. A cocky, sloppy fat kid service adviser tried to tell me I needed brakes and struts right away; definitely a sales scam. Took my car in and waited way, way too long to get tirse balanced. Then found a wheel weight half way on. As the tire mechanic worked on it outside in the "finished" space, the same sloppy fat kid SA yelled at him from in the shop that another customer was waiting. Meanwhile, my alloy wheel was repeatedly gouged badly by the tire guy. The manager left me to talk to the SA kid, who had me yelling (for his educational benefit) in short order at his gross stupidity and arrogance. I think the 3 other manager types standing there enjoyed it because they said nothing to either of us. The district manager never returned my calls to the corporate office; always a sign of good character - NOT.
I called this NTB location to ask about getting the oil changed in my vehicle. The person I spoke with said to bring it in. Nothing was mentioned about a wait time, so I assumed when I got there it wouldn’t take long. When I arrived, the salesperson told me it would be about an hour wait. I couldn’t wait that long, so he suggested I call and make an appointment at a later date. A few days later, my wife called to make the appointment, but she was told they do not take appointments. She went ahead and took the car in and got the oil changed. The next day, as I was checking the engine in preparation for a long trip, I noticed the oil filter had not been changed. I had changed the oil myself previously, and I write the date of the change on the oil filter when I change it. The filter still had the date on it. I called the NTB store to report what had happened, and the manager said to bring it in and they would take care of it. No apology. Just bring it in. So, my wife or I will have to spend another hour or more of our time to go back to the store to have them correct their error. If something as simple and critical to a procedure as changing an oil filter was not done, I wonder what other things they might not be doing.
I had an older guy with a crew cut as my service manager. His attitude did not seem great and I thought that he was trying to pull my leg about a certain part. Ends up he was telling the truth so these guys may be a good place to go to.
If you need a new set of tires, make sure to check a NTB location nearby. They have wide selection and price-match competitors in the area. Service is generally a little slow but they do have nice waiting area.
They fixed my problem and it was not costly but the wait was just dreadful. They told me it would be a twenty minute wait and it ended up taking over two hours.
I have found NTB Tire & Battery to offer professional and courteous service. Pricing seemed reasonable and the work was done fairly fast and within the time quoted. I was happy with the new tire purchase and rotation service that I had done.
Poor inventory of tires and batteries (where did they get that name?) Last battery I bought leaked and ruined washer pump within 6 months,
I've had my brakes done here twice and have purchased new tires from them. Service has been friendly and fast - no complaints!
I was quoted a certain amount, in person, for a tire alignment. Next I sent my girlfriend into get the alignment done and the quote for her was $30.00 above what the qoute was for me!
